Being able to respec a character's Skills and Abilities in a additions to their Skill trees. So while a leveled character will inevitably be better than when they were Level 1, the player protagonist might feel that their unit's build could be more well-optimized.
This notion is not new to the JRPG genre, as the player characters will evolve into what fans see as most suitable for a particular unit. Therefore, having the option to undo mistakes or choices within a character's Skill and Ability tree in The DioField Chronicle is essential for high performance in combat, especially in the mid to late-game portions of the main story.
Fortunately, The DioField Chronicle does offer players the option to respec their characters' Skill and Ability Points; however, this feature does not come without cost. According to Respec for a character, protagonists will need 5,000 G, while 10,000 G is required for an SP Respec. These costs are quite substantial, even for those who have reached the mid-game. However, the price for optimizing a unit in preparation for more challenging encounters is undoubtedly worthwhile in the long run.
How To Respec In The DioField Chronicle
To perform a respec for SP in The DioField Chronicle, players must first access a unit's class Skill tree at the Institute or in the preparation screen before a mission's battle sequence. Next, press G on PC or the Square Button for PlayStation. Afterward, players can spend the currency required to reset any allocated points. Ability Respec is a similar process, except the Abilities menu for a character must be accessed via the Equipment screen.
Game8 also warns The DioField Chronicle fans that only Skills and Abilities can receive a respec. While features like Weapon Development and Magilumic Orb Research can be upgraded, the resources spent in these areas cannot be refunded. Therefore, players must plan their upgrade decisions carefully before carelessly performing an upgrade. Likewise, planning out Skills and Abilities before spending points will save fans thousands of G currency.
