Arrowverse soon coming to an end with The Flash season 9, Amell could find new life as Green Arrow in other projects.

Arrow ended in 2020. Three years later, Amell has returned as Green Arrow in The Flash season 9, episode 9 — "It’s My Party and I’ll Die If I Want To" — his final time as the hero in the Arrowverse, as the shared DC TV universe is set to end soon with The Flash's series finale, as the Grant Gustin-led series is the last one standing from the Arrowverse after multiple shows got canceled. Amell recently revealed that he might not be done as Green Arrow, and even with the Arrowverse ending soon, there are a few ways for the actor to continue playing Oliver Queen in the future.

8 An Elseworlds Arrowverse Justice League Movie

Arrowverse Crisis Earth-X Justice League Comparison

The Arrowverse Justice League deserves a DC Elseworlds movie. The Justice League is DC's most famous team, and the Arrowverse set up its own version of the JLA at the end of the Crisis On Infinite Earths crossover, only for it to never become something more. While Amell's Oliver Queen is currently dead in the Arrowverse, an Elseworlds Justice League movie with the DC TV cast would allow him the perfect opportunity to not only return as Green Arrow but do so on the biggest possible stage.

The Arrowverse helped DC throughout the movie side's period of turbulence, and with the universe ending soon, an Arrowverse Justice League movie outside the new DC Universe's continuity would honor the DC TV universe. As the Arrowverse's founding member, Amell would have to be one of the leads of the project, which could serve as not only his swan song as Green Arrow but an electrifying finale for the Arrowverse as a whole.

7 A Role In Superman & Lois

Superman & Lois is no longer part of the Arrowverse, as the Tyler Hoechlin series was retconned to take place on a different Earth. It was revealed that Superman was the only hero on the show's Earth. While the Arrowverse ends with the currently airing The Flash season 9, Superman & Lois should continue for at least a couple more seasons. That allows the show to play with the multiverse before it ends, with the series being a possible place for Amell to appear as Green Arrow, showing up as either a multiverse version of Oliver Queen or the Arrowverse version of the hero to help Hoechlin's Superman.

6 A Cameo In Peacemaker Season 2

Peacemaker and Green Arrow DC Comics

James Gunn is DC's new creative chief, and he was responsible for including a Green Arrow nod in Peacemaker season 1. In the show, John Cena's Peacemaker made fun of Green Arrow, saying the hero went to "brony conventions." Given the fact that Peacemaker season 1 also set up an Aquaman joke that was later paid off with Jason Momoa appearing in the series, Amell could show up as Green Arrow for a fun follow-up to that gag. Amell even responded to the Peacemaker joke, further setting it up.

5 The Green Arrow Of James Gunn's DC Universe

Although not the most likely option, Amell could continue playing Oliver Queen by being the Green Arrow of Gunn's new DC Universe. Gunn, alongside DC Studios co-CEO Peter Safran, is rebooting the old DCEU in favor of the new DC Universe that is said to be more in line with the comics. While Arrow presented a very different version of the emerald archer than the one in the comics, Amell could return as a comics-accurate version of the hero in the new DC Universe. Gunn has said in the past that he and Safran have the power to cast DC TV actors in their DC Universe, so the possibility exists.

4 A Future DC Universe Multiverse Crossover Movie

Ezra Miller's The Flash movie will open up the multiverse for DC's movie side, and given how popular the multiverse is among superhero fans, it likely will not be the last time that aspect of the DC lore is explored in the movies. A multiverse crossover movie following a fan-favorite comic book storyline like Crisis On Infinite Earths could be in the cards for the new DC Universe's future. As the Arrowverse's founding member, Amell's Green Arrow would be one of the most likely candidates to have a role in the film.

3 An Arrowverse Green Arrow Sequel Series On Max

Stephen Amell as Green Arrow in The Flash Season 9 Episode 9

Amell has made it clear that he would be game to return as Green Arrow for a project that does not follow The CW's Arrowverse format of having 22–23 episodes a season, with the actor stating that "doing something on a limited basis" had an appeal to him. An Arrowverse Green Arrow sequel series on Max, the rebranded HBO Max, could give Amell exactly what he wants.

The series would have a format, with 8–10 episodes a season, as well as no restrictions as to how dark the show could get, something that was not possible in Arrow's network TV environment. An Arrowverse Green Arrow sequel series would let Amell have the breath of fresh air he wants for the character while still allowing audiences to follow the Arrowverse's Oliver Queen.

2 A DC Animated Movie

If Amell cannot return as Green Arrow in live-action, there is always a chance that the actor could return to voice the character in DC's animated side. Amell has voiced Green Arrow in the past, with a role in the Arrowverse-set animated series Vixen. The actor could return for either an animated Arrowverse movie or as the voice of Green Arrow in one of DC's ever-expanding roster of animated films. Amell would follow his Arrowverse co-star Matt Ryan's lead, as the actor has played Constantine both in live-action and animation.

1 A Cameo On Max's Harley Quinn

Harley Quinn wields her hammer in the animated series.

Amell's animated possibilities as Green Arrow are not only related to movies, with the actor possibly being able to continue playing Green Arrow through a cameo role in Max's Harley Quinn series. The Kaley Cuoco-led animated series is an adult-oriented show set in the DC world, with a darkly comedic twist to its characters. Green Arrow has yet to appear in Harley Quinn, and Amell could get the chance to portray the character in the animated series, bringing to life a likely very different version of the character from the one he played on Arrow.
