The Marvel Cinematic Universe keeps bringing characters from Netflix’s Marvel shows back, and it already has the best way to bring Luke Cage (Mike Colter) back. The MCU is currently exploring its multiverse and the many dangers that live in it, but it has also been the perfect opportunity to make characters from other movies and TV shows outside this connected universe part of it, as Hawkeye with Wilson Fisk/Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio).

Daredevil’s return after the cancelation of his TV series over at Netflix in 2018 gave hope for the return of other Spider-Man: No Way Home and J. Jonah Jameson (J. K. Simmons).

the end of Far From Home and part of No Way Home as it was Jameson who revealed the videos left by Mysterio in which he framed Spider-Man for his murder and revealed his identity, and after the final spell in No Way Home, Jameson continued his campaign to uncover the truth of Spider-Man’s identity. While it might seem like there’s nothing in common between J. Jonah Jameson and Luke Cage, they actually have a history together in the comics, which can make way for Luke’s return and official introduction to the MCU.

After the Green Goblin seemingly died in battle against Spider-Man and the web-slinger became a suspect in the Goblin’s and Gwen Stacy’s deaths, Jameson hired Luke Cage to catch Spider-Man. Now, even after the whole multiversal mess in No Way Home, Spider-Man is still believed to have murdered Mysterio, which could be the perfect excuse for Jameson to hire the Power Man to catch Spider-Man – or, simply, hire him to uncover Spider-Man’s identity, as to the public eye, he’s still a big menace and is no longer considered a hero, all thanks to Mysterio, which could also mess with Cage’s plans to protect his area.

What Happened To Luke Cage In The Netflix TV Series?

Born Carl Lucas, Luke Cage was wrongfully convicted for a crime he didn’t commit and was sent to Seagate Prison. There, he met therapist Reva Connors and fell in love with her, but he was also attacked by Albert Rackham, after which he was subjected to experiments by Noah Bursten that gave him superhuman strength and unbreakable skin. After Lucas escaped from prison, he changed his name to Luke Cage and married Connors, who was later killed by Jessica Jones while under the mind-control of Kilgrave (David Tennant). In an effort to build a new life away from Jessica Jones, he moved to Harlem, but that unleashed a series of problems for him.

Luke Cage was blamed for Cottonmouth’s (Mahershala Ali) death, forcing him to go on the run as the NYD and his former friend Willis Stryker went after him, with the latter betraying him by attempting to kill him. Luke eventually defeated Stryker and cleared his name, but he was arrested to continue his original sentence – luckily, he was released early by Foggy Nelson. Luke then ed forces with Daredevil, Iron Fist, and Jessica Jones to destroy the ninja clan the Hand, and when he returned to Harlem, he confronted and defeated Mariah Dillard, who took over the criminal empire from Harlem’s Paradise after killing Cottonmouth. After Dillard was poisoned by her own daughter, Cage was given Harlem’s Paradise, becoming the new crime boss of Harlem, a position he intended to use to protect Harlem from crime by controlling it, and that’s the last the audience saw of Luke Cage.
