Cleaning & Painting & Flipping, Oh My!

All the basic House Flipper tools of the trade have made it into the sequel and all with new improvements. The cleaning rag will change to a scrubber depending on the surface it's cleaning, while the paint roller allows for multiple directions and can be pinpointed in specific areas that weren't possible before. There is also the addition of garbage bags, which allow players to quickly scoop up multiple trash items and throw them away in bins for money. Everything available in the original game is improved upon here and makes the entire experience feel more smooth and effortless.

House Flipper 2 comes complete with a story mode that has Flippers build up their reputation - and bank s - by cleaning and organizing smaller spaces throughout the small coastal town. As the story progresses, access to purchase houses will become available. These require a lot of money but with a little elbow grease, they can be turned for a decent profit to House Flipper buyers or kept as a personal home/office.

One of the most enjoyable experiences of the original game was the ability to clean and decorate your own living space. Every time work is complete, the game returns to your own personal house where you can access the laptop for more jobs, clean up the space, or just hang out. House Flipper 2 continues this tradition and allows for even more creative control. Build the home of your dreams with hard-earned house-flipping money, or hoard all the money and live in filth only spending time and effort on other peoples' homes.

A Plethora of Possibilities

Alongside the well-developed story mode, House Flipper 2 allows even more freedom with a Sandbox Mode. Starting from an empty lot, players can build from the ground up without the stress, or restrictions, of earning money. This mode is very reminiscent of building houses in The Sims. Players will craft foundations, walls, roofs, and staircases, then be able to decorate it all as they see fit.

There are a lot of little progressions throughout House Flipper 2 that make it stand out as a fantastic simulator game. The perk system works based on how often a skill is used. If a player paints a lot, they'll earn perk points in painting which allow them to hold more paint on their roller, or make the roller bigger to cover more surface area. Cleaning is the same way: the more a player cleans, the more perk points are given which can be spent to increase the speed that cleaning works, or add in the new cleaning spray which will highlight a dirty surface.

The store is packed with new items to purchase; building materials, paints, wallpapers, flooring, chairs, appliances, cabinets, board games, computers, posters, and all sorts of items and gadgets to decorate the space. There is also a useful search bar at the top of the store and many of the decor items have a company name attached to them. If there is a certain cabinet that appeals to your style, look for the company name and search it. This will show everything by that company allowing for easy decor-matching while building.

There is also an Assembly minigame that unlocks through story progression. This mode allows would-be builders the opportunity to assemble furniture, put up wall decor, or even fix a broken clock. If the job is done well it will unlock a discount at the store for that type of product. All these little add-ons make House Flipper 2 stand tall over its predecessor and increase the value and replayability of the game overall.

House Flipper 2 feels like a brand-new game based on the original's ideals. Nothing here feels rehashed or repeated, instead, everything is improved and revamped. Anything that was great about House Flipper is here and made better. The controls are simple and intuitive, the graphics are a huge step above the original, and the add-ons are an enjoyable addition. Throw in Sandbox Mode and the possibilities are endless when it comes to crafting and creating your own space.

This is one of the most enjoyable simulator games available and cannot be recommended enough for fans of the series. Anyone who played the original game will absolutely love this, and for those new to the genre House Flipper 2 is the perfect way to see how creative, and addicting, simulator games can be.
