Giving Sunday the best build in new characters in Honkai: Star Rail 2.7, alongside Fugue, the 5-star version of Tingyun.
Sunday can increase an ally and their summon’s DMG with his Skill, and if they have a summon, the DMG bonus is increased even further. Additionally, Sunday’s Skill allows both the buffed ally and their summon to immediately take action while also buffing their CRIT Rate. With his Ultimate, Sunday regenerates an ally’s Energy and designates them and their summon as The Beatified, which has a CRIT DMG buff based on a portion of Sunday’s own CRIT DMG plus a fixed value. If his Skill is used on a Beatified ally, he recovers a Skill Point in Honkai: Star Rail.
Best Light Cones For Sunday
There Are Plenty Of Light Cone Options For The Character
To take advantage of the Sunday can provide, it’s necessary to work on his build, and the first step toward this is finding him a suitable Light Cone. The best 5-star Light Cone for Sunday is A Grounded Ascent, his signature weapon. Tailor-made for him, A Grounded Ascent sees that after the character uses Skill or Ultimate on one ally character, they regenerate 6 Energy and gain a stack Hymn, which increases the holder of the stack a 15% DMG increase, up to three stacks.

Additionally, after two instances of Skill or Ultimate are used on one ally, the Light Cone restores one Skill Point. A Grounded Ascent is perfect for Sunday because he should be buffing the same ally consistently and the Light Cone’s DMG buff to allies stacks with his own, transforming him into a powerful hypercarry unit. If you do not have A Grounded Ascent, the second-best 5-star Light Cone for Sunday is But The Battle Isn’t Over. This Light Cone increases the ’s Energy Regeneration Rate by 10% and restores a Skill Point when they use their Ultimate on an ally.
You can obtain But The Battle Isn’t Over from the Starlight Exchange shop for 600 Undying Starlight or from any of the banners in Honkai: Star Rail.
Furthermore, when the wearer uses their Skill, the next ally taking action deals 30% more DMG. This fits perfectly with Sunday’s kit, which allows their buffed ally to immediately take action, automatically granting them the additional DMG bonus that stacks with his own DMG bonus.

Honkai: Star Rail 3.0 Leaks Show Remembrance Trailblazer Will Thrive With The Herta
New details about the Remembrance Trailblazer in Honkai: Star Rail 3.0 have leaked and they may work well with The Herta in team comps.
Alternatively, you can use Sparkle’s signature Light Cone, Earthly Escapade, as a 5-star alternative for Sunday, as it will boost his CRIT DMG and grant automatic CRIT Rate and CRIT DMG buffs for his allies. If none of these are at your disposal, you can use some good 4-star Light Cones in Honkai: Star Rail.
Past and Future is the best 4-star Light Cone for Sunday. When the character uses their Skill, the next ally taking action deals 16% more DMG for one turn. This is fitting since Sunday’s Skill forces their main DPS to take action and, therefore, will see them deal more damage to enemies. The best thing about it is that Past and Future is a F2P (free-to-play) 4-star Light Cone.
Past and Future can be obtained from the Forgotten Hall Store. It’s fairly easy to get Past and Future to S5 (Superimposition level 5), which, in turn, sees the DMG buff increased to a whopping 32%. For reference, this is one of the best options for Bronya’s build in Honkai: Star Rail.
Other 4-star Light Cones to consider for Sunday are Carve the Moon, Weave the Clouds and Planetary Rendezvous. The former has a randomness factor attributed to it which can be annoying at times, but all the buffs it provides are fairly strong, including ATK, CRIT DMG, and Energy Regeneration Rate buffs. The latter also offers a great DMG increase, but only to characters who deal the same type of damage as the – in this case, Imaginary. If Sunday is on an Imaginary team, that should do well, but otherwise, Past and Future should be the go-to Light Cone.
Best Relics, Ornaments, & Stats for Sunday
Only A Few Stats Need To Be Focused On
The next step in Sunday’s best build is finding him the proper gear to work with. The best Relic set for Sunday is Sacerdos’ Relived Ordeal. With two pieces, Sunday’s SPD will be boosted by 6%. With all four pieces, after he uses a Skill or Ultimate on one ally, the target’s CRIT DMG is boosted by 18% for two turns, an effect that can stack up to two times. This Relic set fits right into his role as a providing offensive buffs for his main DPS in Honkai: Star Rail.

All Confirmed & Leaked Honkai: Star Rail Character Banners From Versions 3.0 Through 3.2
While HoYoverse has confirmed two new characters for Honkai: Star Rail 3.0, four other 5-star units have been leaked for Versions 3.1 and 3.2.
Because one of the character’s main boons is providing extra CRIT DMG to allies, the best Ornament set for Sunday is Broken Keel. By equipping it, the gets a 10% Effect RES boost and, when their Effect RES is at 30% or higher, all allies’ CRIT DMG increases by 10%. When farming these Relics and Ornaments, you’ll need to ensure Sunday’s Effect RES is at 30% to trigger Broken Keel’s effect.
CRIT DMG should be one of Sunday’s most important stats. Although he doesn’t use it practically in combat, he can provide CRIT DMG buffs based on a percentage of his own CRIT DMG, so you should get that stat to around 200% or higher. Sunday will also need some SPD – preferably, one point less than the team’s main DPS’ SPD. This way, the main DPS can take action and then Sunday can pull them back into action via his Skill. Extra Energy Regeneration Rate can also help keep his Ultimate available and HP can help with survivability.

Skill (Trace) Priority For Sunday
Prioritize The Character’s Most Important Ability
When you’re leveling up Sunday’s abilities, you may be forced to prioritize one over the other because of a scarcity of materials. The bread and butter of Sunday’s kit is his Skill and that should be the first ability that is leveled up. Following that, you should improve both his Ultimate and Talent simultaneously, as they are extremely important to his rotation, too. The last priority, which can be entirely skipped, is his Basic Attack.
