A new leak about Hyacine and Cipher to Honkai: Star Rail.

While players will still have to go through its contents, some attention is already drawn toward future updates, such as Version 3.4. The following patch will add Phainon’s playable version in the game, as teased by HoYoverse, as well as Saber and Archer as part of the Fate/stay night: Unlimited Blade Works collaboration event. More details about these additions, especially when it comes to the Fate characters in Honkai: Star Rail 3.4 have yet to be leaked or officially described, but some leakers are already looking much further into the future.

Honkai: Star Rail Leaks Say No 4-Star Character Is Being Developed At The Moment

HoYoverse May Be Crafting New Units Under Wraps

While some leaks are looking into characters that are already expected, such as Hysilens and Cyrene, for example, others are looking at what may be missing from the game in future patches. According to information provided by the leaker known as Sakura Haven, who has a track record of accurate leaks, like the character banners in Version 3.3, there are currently no 4-star characters in development for the game. The leak was shared in a post tagged as “Reliable” on Reddit.

Honkai Star Rail 3.4 Leaks: Archer's Kit May Resemble One Of The Best DPS Characters

New details about Archer’s gameplay kit in Honkai: Star Rail 3.4 have been leaked, and it seems he may take inspiration from a powerful DPS.

The leaker highlights that this may not be the case, but that leakers themselves have not had access to data about any 4-star character in Honkai: Star Rail. Essentially, this could mean that the developer is internally working on a new 4-star character (or multiple 4-star characters) and that the information has not yet reached leakers. Even so, there is a possibility that HoYoverse is currently focused on testing and adjusting characters that are already expected to be released, like the aforementioned Chrysos Heirs Hysilens and Cyrene.

The Lack Of New 4-Star Characters Makes The Game Difficult For F2P Players

The rumors that HoYoverse is not working on a 4-star character, however, are daunting. The game has been actively struggling with the lack of 4-star character options for quite some time. While each of the latest patches has brought at least one new playable 5-star character, 4-star characters are a lot more absent from the title. In fact, the last 4-star character to have been released by the developer was Moze back in Version 2.6. A few months ago, there were rumors about the release of Mr. Reca in Honkai: Star Rail, but it hasn’t happened yet.

After Seeing The Honkai: Star Rail 3.4 Leaks, I'm A Bit Disappointed About Phainon's Release

New details about a specific aspect of Phainon’s rumored gameplay kit in Honkai: Star Rail have leaked, and it’s somewhat disappointing.

Furthermore, the leaks say that Mr. Reca’s release has been postponed indefinitely. So, even if the character is a 4-star unit, his release may have been pushed back to an undisclosed date. Looking down the line, HoYoverse has to release the previously mentioned Chrysos Heirs and, supposedly, both Mr. Reca and Screwllum. Even so, Screwllum is yet another character who has been left in limbo without any release date prospects. There were rumors about Screwllum’s release in Honkai: Star Rail years ago, but that never came into fruition.

Not having enough 4-star character options really limits players, especially those who are F2P (free-to-play). Without enough resources to constantly obtain new 5-star characters from banners because of the tough-to-beat pity rates, F2P players often resort to 4-star units, which are easier to acquire. With no new 4-star character in the future, according to the leaks, keeping up with the combat meta in Honkai: Star Rail is going to be an arduous task, and it seems like HoYoverse may not be interested in addressing that just yet.
