All the details about Anaxa to Honkai: Star Rail’s roster of playable characters, further expanding the team comp and strategy options.

Version 3.3 will also bring forth two new characters, as had already been confirmed by the developer via drip marketing posts. Because the game is also receiving new main campaign quests uninterruptedly until Version 3.7, Version 3.3 will also feature brand-new Trailblaze Missions set in Amphoreus, following the ground-shattering events of the quests added with Version 3.2. In addition to this, HoYoverse has confirmed a series of events that will help fill out the update’s six-week duration, as well as new activities to challenge, such as a Cavern of Corrosion that drops new Relics in Honkai: Star Rail 3.3.

Honkai: Star Rail 3.3 - Release Date

The Update Will Arrive On Schedule

Honkai Star Rail's Hyacine, Cipher, and Trailblazer assemble to fight Aquila.

All the information about the patch was revealed by HoYoverse during the Version 3.3 livestream, which was broadcast live on the official Honkai: Star Rail channel on YouTube. Because the game hasn’t sustained any internal delays and should be following its regular schedule, the next update is set to arrive on time. The developer has confirmed that Honkai: Star Rail 3.3 will be released on May 21 across all platforms on which the title is available. It’s worth noting that Version 3.2 will last until May 20, when the maintenance period for the update is set to start.

Even if the official release date is May 21, some regions, including the United States, will have access to Version 3.3 on May 20 at night because of time zone differences.

With the special event having been broadcast and a definitive release date scheduled by HoYoverse, it’s highly unlikely that the next patch will be delayed. Usually, when an update is to be delayed, the developer tends to postpone the respective livestream – or announce it for a later date when it was expected. As such, players should conclude their limited-time affairs in Version 3.2, such as the completion of events and the battle , before May 20, when the maintenance starts and locks access to the game until the start of Honkai: Star Rail 3.3.

Honkai: Star Rail 3.3 - New Characters & Banners

Two New Characters Will Be Released With The Herta & Aglaea Reruns

As was previously mentioned, two new characters will become playable with the arrival of Version 3.3. Hyacine is a 5-star Wind character following the Path of the Remembrance, as had already been confirmed by HoYoverse. Now, the developer showcased Hyacine’s kit in Honkai: Star Rail, confirming that she operates as a healer in team comps. With both her Skill and Ultimate, Hyacine can summon her memosprite, Ica, and simultaneously restore HP for the entire team. According to the announcement, Hyacine enters the Petrichoric Clear Skies state for three turns after using her Ultimate, increasing all her allies’ Max HP score.

New details about Archer’s gameplay kit in Honkai: Star Rail 3.4 have been leaked, and it seems he may take inspiration from a powerful DPS.

Hyacine can also keep a tally of the healing she provides, and, with it, boost the damage she causes to opponents via Ica. Because of Hyacine’s ability to increase her allies’ Max HP, she is expected to become the best healer for Mydei and Castorice team comps in Honkai: Star Rail. Additionally, because Hyacine’s abilities scale off her Max HP score, she will also synergize well with Tribbie, who increases her own Max HP based on her team’s score. As such, using Mydei or Castorice with Tribbie and Hyacine can significantly increase the team’s overall performance.

One of Ica’s main abilities is to sacrifice its own HP to heal allies once they lose HP in battle, which allows the character to provide constant and consistent healing for the team.

The other new character in Version 3.3 is Cipher. The treasure-greedy Chrysos Heir was first introduced as an NPC in Version 3.2, but will now become playable. Cipher is a 5-star Quantum character who follows the Path of the Nihility. Cipher marks the enemy with the highest Max HP score in battle, and when they sustain damage, she records the damage and deals follow-up attacks. With her Ultimate, Cipher deals True DMG to the marked enemy, which increases based on the tally of damage. Cipher’s kit in Honkai: Star Rail allows her to be built as a sub-DPS or DPS.

According to HoYoverse, Hyacine will debut in Phase 1 banners alongside a rerun banner for The Herta, while Phase 2 banners will feature Cipher’s debut and an Aglaea rerun. This had already been predicted by the leaks, but now there is official confirmation about what players can expect from the banners during Version 3.3. Additionally, the developer announced that the 4-star characters Mika, Serval, and Natasha will have increased drop rates in Phase 1 banners, while Phase 2 banners will increase drop rates for the 4-star units Qingque, Xueyi, and Sushang in Honkai: Star Rail.

Honkai: Star Rail 3.3 - Story Updates, Events, & More

A New Weekly Boss Will Be Introduced

Honkai Star Rail's Hyacine and Cipher pose next to each other in combat.

The game’s story quests will pick up right after the end of the events seen in the Version 3.2 quests. Having lost some allies, players will assemble with the Chrysos Heirs and make their way toward the sky and explore a new map to face Aquila, the Sky Titan. Meanwhile, they will also have to deal with the Flame Reaver’s machinations, as the story of Amphoreus is gearing up toward huge events. Aquila will become a weekly boss in Honkai: Star Rail 3.3 and drop a new Trace material called Daythunder Anamnesis, which will be used by Cipher.

After Seeing The Honkai: Star Rail 3.4 Leaks, I'm A Bit Disappointed About Phainon's Release

New details about a specific aspect of Phainon’s rumored gameplay kit in Honkai: Star Rail have leaked, and it’s somewhat disappointing.

Aside from new main story content, HoYoverse also confirmed a series of events for the patch. One of the events is called Trace ‘n’ Drift, which will be a kart racing minigame. In it, players will be able to unlock different cars and, during the race, use pickup items, boosts, and avoid obstacles. As rewards, you can expect Stellar Jade, Tracks of Destiny, and more. Another big event in Version 3.3 is Legend of the Galactic Baseballer: Demon King, a battle event that is making a return with enhanced mechanics, offering Stellar Jade, Tracks of Destiny, and Self-Modeling Resin.

Smaller events like Gift of Odyssey, Planar Fissure, and Garden of Plenty will also make a comeback in Version 3.3. The new Stagnant Shadow: Shape of Deepsheaf will also be added to the game, offering players the chance to farm the Physical Ascension material Invasive Cloth, which will most likely be used by Phainon in Honkai: Star Rail 3.4.

Phainon’s release has been somewhat confirmed, as HoYoverse has shared drip marketing posts for the character across various of its official social media s.

Lastly, there will also be an update to the Divergent Universe: Protean Hero with six new schools to unlock, as well as new Relic sets to farm: Warrior Goddess of Sun And Thunder and Wavestrider Captain. As a QoL (quality-of-life) update, HoYoverse will also expand the maximum Relic inventory capacity to 3,000 pieces. There will be a lot to do in Honkai: Star Rail 3.3 as the main story starts to get even more serious than before, and the stakes are higher than ever.
