There is much to do in Version 3.2, and a lot of these activities will be spread across the update’s six weeks, but attention is already turning toward Version 3.3 because of the patch’s beta tests, which have been revealing a lot of information. Already been confirmed by HoYoverse, Hyacine and Cipher are the new playable characters arriving with the patch, but recent leaks have shown details about the two. There have been leaks about Hyacine’s kit in Honkai: Star Rail 3.2, which show she should operate as a healer, while Cipher is expected to be a DPS and debuffer.

Honkai: Star Rail 3.3's Leaked Main Event Comes With Free 4-Star Characters

The Legend Of The Galactic Baseballer May Make A Comeback

One of the many leaks about Version 3.3 is about a special event that may offer a free 4-star character for players. According to information provided by the leaker known as Sakura Haven, the Legend of the Galactic Baseballer event will make a comeback under the guise of The Legend of the Galactic Baseballer: Demon King, and this should be Version 3.3’s flagship event. The leak was shared in a post tagged as “Reliable” on Reddit. As seen in the leak, players will go through various stages, defeating enemies based on the stage’s different buffs in Honkai: Star Rail 3.3.

Based on the description by the leaker, the event’s core mechanics haven’t changed too much, and, instead, there are some adjustments to make it an improvement from the first iteration. The leaker also mentions that one of the rewards for the leaked event is a free 4-star character. Players will allegedly be able to choose between Gallagher, Misha, Hanya, and Xueyi. This is also mentioned in a leak from Tart, which was shared on 4-star character in Honkai: Star Rail 3.3.

Free Character Selection In Honkai: Star Rail 3.3 Is Better Than Previous Lineups

Previous Events Offered Outdated 4-Star Characters

If the leak proves to be true once the update is released – or even before, as this type of information would likely be confirmed during the Version 3.3 livestream in approximately one month – and the lineup of free 4-star characters isn’t changed, this is the best selection of character rewards in a while, as previous lineups have been faulty. Recently, there was an event that offered a free 4-star character, but the selection was dreadful. By reaching Rank 1 in the now unavailable Awooo Firm event, players could select a free 4-star character in Honkai: Star Rail 3.1.

Although free characters are always great news, the big problem with the last free 4-star character giveaway was the selection of characters. The Awooo Firm offered players a chance to obtain Qingque, Pela, Serval, or Asta. All of these characters are extremely old or outdated and had little to offer older players. I, for example, already had all four characters at E6 (Eidolon level 6), so my only profit was 20 Undying Starlight. Even if I were to gain a new Eidolon level for whichever of these characters, I wouldn’t put most of them to use under the current meta.

Pela is still highly usable, especially as a for Acheron’s team comps in Honkai: Star Rail if you’re not running Jiaoqiu, for example.

Despite adoring Pela, the lineup of free characters for the event was a terrible one – possibly a reflection of the larger issue that is the absence of more 4-star characters in the playable roster. Even so, more recent 4-star characters had to be included, and they, unfortunately, were not. That seems to have changed drastically with the leaked lineup of free characters for the supposed event in Version 3.3. Excluding Moze and March 7th (Imaginary), Gallagher, Misha, Hanya, and Xueyi are some of the most recent 4-star characters in Honkai: Star Rail.

The odds of players having all four of these characters’ Eidolon levels maxed out is much less than the odds presented in the previous free 4-star character lineup. As such, players may actually have something to gain from playing the leaked Legend of the Galactic Baseballer: Demon King event in Version 3.3. There’s even a chance that players may not have one of these characters, depending on how much they play and how often they pull from banners. Additionally, one of the characters in this leaked lineup may be a great boon, especially for F2P players in Honkai: Star Rail.

Why Gallagher Is The Best Free Character To Pick From Leaked Honkai: Star Rail 3.3 Event

The Character Is Arguably The Best 4-Star Healer

This particular character is Gallagher. Among the 4-star Abundance healers, Gallagher is arguably the best one right now, thanks to his ability to provide a great amount of healing to allies and debuffing enemies. With his Ultimate, he can inflict the Besotted state on opponents. Besotted targets take more Break DMG, and each time they are attacked by an ally, the attacking ally restores HP. Furthermore, he enhances his next Basic Attack, which deals more Fire DMG and reduces the target’s ATK. Gallagher is particularly good for Break teams, like those led by Firefly in Honkai: Star Rail.

Even though he is at his best when providing healing for Break team because of his ability to boost Break DMG, he can act as a F2P alternative to Luocha. Like the 5-star Imaginary healer, Gallagher’s kit incentivizes the rest of the team to be aggressive and, in doing so, restore HP. This attack-to-heal effect is particularly good when HP loss is constant. As such, Gallagher can be a substitute healer for Castorice’s teams or even Mydei’s team comps in Honkai: Star Rail when Luocha or a better healer is absent.

Among the leaked free 4-star offer in Version 3.3, I’d highly recommend either getting Gallagher for the first time or upgrading his Eidolon levels – especially when considering how few healers there actually are in the game. Misha and Xueyi are reasonable F2P DPS characters, and Hanya can operate as a F2P 4-star alternative for Sparkle, so any of these characters is fairly good, but Gallagher truly stands tall among them in Honkai: Star Rail.
