The leaks had also cited the possibility of Mr. Reca’s release in Version 3.3, but it seems no new 4-star unit has been leaked until Version 3.4, so his highly anticipated release may have been internally postponed by developer HoYoverse. Coincidentally or not, the rumors had also mentioned that Mr. Reca would be a Remembrance character operating as a healer in parties. There is still a scarcity of information about Version 3.3 in comparison to Version 3.2, which will see the release of Castorice in Honkai: Star Rail, for example, but a new leak highlighted another character in Version 3.3.

The Leaks Talk About Each Character’s Roles In Team Comps

Aside from Hyacine and stacking with previous rumors, it seems like Cipher will be a new playable character in Version 3.3 and new details about both units seem to have been leaked. According to information provided by the leaker known as Luna, both Hyacine and Cipher are set for release in Version 3.3 and the overview of their respective kits is now available. The leak was shared in a post flagged as “Questionable” on Reddit. As seen in the leak, Hyacine will be a Remembrance character who uses Wind DMG during combat in Honkai: Star Rail.

Furthermore, she is reported to have a large amount of SPD and is described as a Burning HP Healer – which is interpreted by some commentators on Reddit as a healer for characters who are centered around losing HP, like Mydei. On the other hand, the leak says that Cipher is a Nihility character who deals Quantum DMG in battle. According to the leak, Cipher’s specialty is dealing Additional DMG to opponents and, additionally, she is a DPS unit focused on dealing CRIT DMG. Unlike Phainon in Honkai: Star Rail, there have been few leaks about Cipher so far.

The Rumored Nihility Unit May Do What Acheron Does, But Better

Even though the details about Cipher’s kit are still scarce, there is reason to believe that the character has the potential to powercreep Acheron. Not only is Cipher reported to be a 5-star Nihility character who is centered around dealing CRIT DMG to enemies, much like Acheron, but she is said to even be able to deal Additional DMG. For reference, Nihility characters are usually debuffers in team comps – Acheron in Honkai: Star Rail was the one to break that mold, becoming a fully-fledged DPS unit specialized in dealing damage rather than applying debuffs.

With her release, Acheron quickly rose through the ranks to become one of the strongest DPS units in the game, significantly powercreeping other DPS before her. If Cipher’s gameplay kit turns out to be anything like Acheron’s in the sense that she deals an immense amount of damage to enemies, she could potentially powercreep the Self-Annihilator. The leaks say that Cipher should have a high CRIT score, which will allow her to deal increased damage to enemies and, on top of that, Additional DMG, which can boost her total damage output against opponents in Honkai: Star Rail.

Acheron’s Potential Powercreep By Cipher Wouldn’t Come Across As Much Of A Surprise

To give more credit to the belief that Acheron could be powercrept by Cipher, it’s worth looking back at HoYoverse’s most recent character releases; more specifically, the Amphoreus characters. Aglaea’s release in Version 3.0’s Phase 2 banners set a new standard for damage output in battle considering how strong and swift she and her memosprite can be. Tribbie’s release as a sub-DPS and is also noteworthy, and Mydei’s HP loss is enough to powercreep Blade. Now, there are reports about Castorice’s broken revival ability in Honkai: Star Rail, which could make her indispensable in and out of team comps.

As such, a new character to end Acheron’s reign as a Nihility DPS wouldn’t be much of a surprise considering how bad powercreeping is with the past few updates. Of course, for now, the leaks about Hyacine and Cipher should be considered with extreme caution, as the reports may be incorrect, incomplete, or subject to heavy changes ahead of their beta test versions. Even so, the powerful Acheron, rumored to be among Version 3.2’s character banners, may soon lose her status in Honkai: Star Rail.
