Henry Golding s the cast of the adaptation of Downtown Owl starring Ed Harris and several others. Based on the New York Times bestselling novel by Chuck Klosterman, the story transpires in the fictional town of Owl in North Dakota in 1983. In this rural area, isolated from 1980s pop culture and influence, a new high school English teacher changes the lives of the locals, just before a white-out blizzard hits their town.
Now, according to Deadline, Golding is set to the cast of Downtown Owl for an unknown role, appearing alongside Academy Award nominee Harris, Vanessa Hudgens, Finn Wittrock, Jack Dylan Grazer, August Blanco Rosenstein, and Lily Rabe. The drama will be the directorial debut of Rabe and Hamish Linklater, with Linklater having written the script for the film. Musical mastermind and multi-Grammy award winner T Bone Burnett will be developing the music for Downtown Owl. For now, further details of the movie’s release and Golding’s role have yet to be disclosed, but production has already begun in Minnesota.
It's been a busy few years for Golding. He appeared in three films in 2019 and led Paramount's Snake Eyes in 2021 as the title character. Golding is also a part of the star-studded cast for Carrie Cracknell’s take on the Jane Austen romance novel Persuasion, where he'll play Mr. Elliot. Additionally, Golding will lend his voice to the animated adaptation of the children’s book The Tiger’s Apprentice and has a role in Assassin Club. Hopefully, more information about his part in Downtown Owl is revealed soon.
