Hello Kitty Island Adventure has brought back the Hugs & Hearts Festival for Valentine's Day 2025, bringing love-themed rewards to collect for a limited time. Having just recently launched onto PC, Hello Kitty Island Adventure allows players to the iconic Sanrio characters on a cozy journey through several different areas. From spooky forests to molten lava-covered mountain tops, there is plenty to collect, explore, and enjoy.

The Valentine's Day event, also known as the Hugs & Hearts Festival, not only brings new rewards to earn but also brings a new critter to catch. The Lovebug is a small caterpillar-like critter that is used as a currency to purchase decor and clothing throughout the event, which is set to end on February 22.

Catch Lovebugs To Purchase New Items

The latest Hugs & Hearts Festival is all about --- well -- hugs and hearts! The new critter roaming around, the Lovebug, is a form of currency to be collected only during the festival. This currency is used to purchase the new items, decor, and outfits that will only be available during the event. It is also worth noting that there will only be one Lovebug to catch per day, and players will need a net (which can easily be unlocked through Keroppi's friendship quests) to participate.

Lovebugs can primarily be found near the Resort Plaza, which is located in the middle of the map and can be fast-traveled to from either the in-game Map or a mailbox.

There is plenty in Hello Kitty Island Adventure to keep players busy while they wait for the next day to arrive, including the ability to purchase Valentine's Day-themed items at both My Melody's and Tuxedosam's Shop using items found around the islands. After catching a Lovebug, players can head to the Habitat located in front of My Melody's shop and trade their critters in for goodies.

Limited Time Rewards Are Only Available During The Hello Kitty Island Adventure Event

Players Will Need To Stock Up On A Few Items For More Decor & Outfits

Not only are there new things to collect with the use of Lovebugs, but new items are available for a limited time in each shop. In order to get their hands on these items, Hello Kitty fans will need to stockpile items such as Pink Dye, Candy Clouds, Woodblocks, Fabric, and Sparks.

While the event is only around for a short time, there is plenty of time to obtain each of the new items, even if players miss a day or two of catching Lovebugs, which is great news for those who may not have time to play Hello Kitty Island Adventure ​​​​​​every day.
