Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 is the follow-up to the 2017 psychological horror game Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice, which was originally released on PlayStation 4 and PC, later coming to the Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. With stunning HD graphics and what looks to be just as compelling of a story as the first, many wonder whether the game — like the original that was eventually on Xbox, PC, and PlayStation — will be available on other platforms. Sadly, the answer may disappoint.

Hellblade 2 Will Be A PC & Xbox Exclusive, Initially

Hellblade 2 is set to release on May 21, 2024, on PC and Xbox Series X/S and will be available on Xbox Game on the day of its release. Hellblade 2 will not release on Nintendo Switch or PS5 upon its release in May of 2024. Ninja Theory was acquired by Xbox Game Studios in 2018 following the success of the original Hellblade, which explains the console release change from PlayStation to Xbox in its sequel.

Although it was recently announced that Rumors that Hellblade 2 would be ported to PS5 have been shot down by industry insiders, and no marketing thus far has included any mentions of additional platform .

Although Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 won't be available to play on PS5 or Nintendo Switch upon release, it doesn't mean that it can't make its way to other platforms later. A variety of platform-exclusive titles have been developed for other consoles after some time has ed, including the original Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice. Originally released on the PS4 and PC in August of 2017, the game eventually made its way to Xbox One in April of the following year, then Nintendo Switch one year after that.

The acquisition of Ninja Theory by Xbox Game Studios may somewhat complicate things, but Xbox's recent stance on cross-platform title releases bodes well for the potential for the game to be ported in the future after enough time has ed on the Xbox Series X/S.

In of the Switch, rumors of the Nintendo Switch 2 currently under development would likely push any porting or development for Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 on a Nintendo console to be pushed back for the release of their rumored next-gen handheld.
