Warning: Spoilers for Hellverine #6!The most terrifying and rage-filled version of the Hulk has finally been unleashed. The Hell Hulk officially ed the Marvel Universe in Hellverine #5, but the cliffhanger appearance was more of a bonafide cameo than anything else. Readers could never have predicted the kind of brute force that the Hell Hulk would be revealed to be harboring within itself.

Hellverine #6 by Benjamin Percy and Raffaele Ienco showcases the unique power that Hell Hulk harnesses. Wolverine's son Akihiro (formerly known as Daken) was gifted hardcore new powers as the Hellverine. As such, he's been in conflict with Mephisto, and now, Dr. Spivey of the United States government's Project Hellfire has requested Akihiro's help on behalf of the U.S. President to stop a new threat in Hell Hulk. He's debriefed by chief analyst Severith on the danger of Hell Hulk.

The Hell Hulk radiates rage so intense that anyone who comes into with it tears themselves apart.

Hellverine #5 Hell Hulk on a screen cameo appearance

Marvel immediately establishes Hell Hulk as a threat in his first appearance by debuting him as the reason why Hellverine is extracted from a top government facility, with Dr. Spivey telling Ashikiro that there are bigger problems to tend to. There's a curiosity if Hellverine is even powerful enough to stop the latest demon to step foot on Earth. There's still plenty to learn about Hell Hulk, as Ashikiro spends the majority of this issue collecting loose Hulk body parts. One thing that readers already know is the previously announced solicit summary for Hellverine #7:

Hellfire & Hulks don't mix! The Hell Hulk brings rage wherever it goes, and Hellverine can't stop it alone! The Hellfire Warriors return as Project Hellfire brings out the big guns. But what is their true goal? And what IS the Hell Hulk really?

This explicitly confirms the extent of Hell Hulk's rage, framing it as something far deadlier than anything contained by Bruce Banner or other versions of the Hulk. Hulk has had many disturbing transformations that have made him angry enough to destroy any and everything in sight. What makes this so different is that Hell Hulk's powers compare his victims to destroy themselves by just being merely within a foot's reach of the monster, seemingly without Hell Hulk ever needing to lift a finger upon them.

What Happens When the Hell Hulk's Body is Assembled?

Speaking of fingers and feet, savvy readers will notice how when Ashikiro recovered the finger for the disembodied Hell Hulk, Dr. Spivey connected it back to the body, who, without a head, is able to clench a fist. This issue ends with Hellverine finding Hell Hulk's head that seems to still be alive itself. This is taking the Hulk's hellish life in a new direction, as this Hulk may be unkillable and destined to be stronger once all his body parts are assembled.

Hellverine and co. want to compile all of Hell Hulk's body parts to understand what this creature is for the greater good in order to protect humanity and mutantkind. However, all that readers have seen so far (including the aforementioned summary for the next issue) suggests that Hell Hulk will become an even bigger problem once he's completely pulled back together. Time will tell what happens when the characters discover the Hell Hulk's actual biology, but in a worse case scenario, they may be learning the hard way.
