Warning! Spoilers ahead for Hawkeye episode 6
The Kingpin (Vincent D'Onofrio) might not have met his death in the finale episode of Marvel's Echo series starring Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox).
In Hawkeye episode 6, it was confirmed that Kate Bishop's mother Eleanor had been working for Wilson Fisk's Kingpin for years, having been the one who killed Armand Duquesne, framed her fiancé for the murder, and hired Yelena Belova to kill Clint Barton. Furthermore, it was also revealed that Eleanor was trying to get out of her partnership by leaving and threatening Fisk with blackmail should he attempt to go after her. Regardless, Fisk resolved to kill Eleanor in response, sending the Tracksuits to the Bishop Security Christmas Party to make sure she'd be eliminated. While both Clint and Kate arrived on the scene, Clint was quickly caught up in a battle with Yelena who sought revenge for her sister's death which left Kate on her own to face the Kingpin himself.
While Kate managed to survive the brute strength of Wilson Fisk and knocked him out, the Kingpin escapes before the cops arrive by the episode's end. However, Maya Lopez is there to intercept him. Thanks to Clint's reveal in the previous episode that the murder of Maya's father was ordered by the Kingpin, Maya has turned on Fisk and aims a gun at him while he tries to appeal to her as a "family member". However, the actual gunshot itself was fired off-screen, an indication that Fisk might not be as dead as the Hawkeye series makes him out to be and that the Kingpin could still have an MCU future.
Considering the facts that the Kingpin took an arrow to the chest, was hit by the full force of a car, and was then able to survive a symphony of highly dangerous trick arrows, it seems likely that Fisk would be able to survive being shot by Maya (if that's indeed what happened). Furthermore, the Kingpin is far too powerful and too dynamic as a villain to die by simply getting shot off-screen. Not only would it undermine the possibilities for Daredevil, or if the Netflix marvel shows are even still canonical to the MCU.
Essentially, Wilson Fisk's Kingpin is much too significant to be taken out by a simple gunshot that may have not even hit him. Now, Marvel and Fisk fans will just have to wait until a new series such as Echo releases to see if Fisk may have survived his encounter with Maya Lopez. While she may hate him for having her father killed, he did take her in as his own daughter which could have motivated Maya to spare Fisk's life...this time. In any case, it would certainly be more surprising if it were confirmed that Kingpin was indeed killed, rather than him being alive with his future being masked by the mystery Hawkeye has presented to fans in its season finale.
