Warning! Spoilers ahead for Hawkeye episode 4.

Eleanor Bishop (Vera Farmiga) may have been the reason why Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh) suddenly appeared in Barton and Yelena's conflict that was set up in the Black Widow movie.

While the events of Captain America: Civil War, its post-credits scene was set in the present MCU. In the sequence, Yelena visits Natasha Romanoff's (Scarlett Johansson) grave when Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis-Dreyfuss) shows up to give her latest mission. Surprisingly, it's assassinating Barton, who the Contessa claims to have killed Black Widow which isn't exactly the case. Now, amidst Barton's problem with the Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox) and the Tracksuit Mafia, he also has to deal with the emergence of Yelena.

Jeremy Renner as Clint Barton and Vera Farmiga as Eleanor Bishop in Hawkeye

This idea makes the most sense since both Eleanor and Val/Yelena want Barton dead. In addition to that, as the CEO of Bishop Securities, Eleanor has the ability to track down potentially anyone. This is something that was established previously in Hawkeye when Bishop traced the location of Barton's phone when he was kidnapped by the Tracksuit Mafia. While Eleanor may not have the ability to specifically track down Barton, she may have figured that her daughter was with him, allowing her to provide Yelena with their exact location. In the event, however, that Eleanor's call wasn't to Val, it's also possible that she may have ed Kingpin instead. As hinted several times in the Marvel Studios show, Wilson Fisk is somehow involved in the events of Hawkeye as potentially the Tracksuit Mafia's leader. The notorious crime lord may have then ed Val to send Yelena.

Whatever the case may be, it does seem like it was Eleanor's call that tipped off Yelena about Barton's whereabouts. Assuming that this is the case, it implies that Bishop may also have to keep an eye on her mother as being connected to either Val or Kingpin isn't exactly an indication of good moral standing. Perhaps the reason why she and Jack Duquesne (Tony Dalton) get on really well is because Eleanor is also some kind of a villain in Hawkeye.
