Halloween Kills, fans are more than excited to see the final showdown between Michael and his arch-nemesis, Laurie Strode.
Over the years, Michael has racked up an impressive amount of kills. While many of these kills were easy to see coming given that most characters in slasher movies are doomed from the start, there were still a few that caught viewers by surprise or were shockingly gruesome.
Annie Bracket (Rob Zombie Continuity)
When Annie Bracket survived her encounter with Michael in Rob Zombie's reboot, fans thought that she might have a chance to survive the reboot's sequel. But those hopes were soon crushed when Michael brutally slashes Annie multiple times and leaves her to bleed out.
Seeing Zombie change the survival of Annie from the original Halloween was shocking enough. But watching her die for real was heartbreaking, as it always is to see survivors of a slasher villain mercilessly killed off in a later movie. But the death served as a reminder that in Halloween movies, no one is safe and everyone is fair game when Michael comes to town.
Cameron Elam
Blumhouse's Halloween reboot broke the classic slasher movie formula when it allowed Cameron, the cheating boyfriend of Laurie Strode's granddaughter, to survive the movie. But his survival was only temporary as the boy would die in Halloween Kills at the hands of Michael.
The death comes at a bigger shock since Cameron made amends with Allyson before teaming up with her and his father, Lonnie, to try to hunt Michael down and kill him for good. But unfortunately, anyone that seeks to hunt down Michael is doomed, and audiences had to say goodbye to Cameron just when he was starting to be a likable character again.
Sam Loomis (Rob Zombie Continuity)
Rob Zombie's reboot changed a lot about Michael's arch-nemesis Sam Loomis. In his continuity, Loomis becomes a greedy, arrogant man profiting off of Michael's killing spree.
That being said, upon realizing his mistakes, he has a change of heart and tries to correct his past transgressions by killing Michael, which leads to his death in the second of Zombie's movies.
While fans were wanting him dead due to his behavior throughout the film, it was still shocking to see a character so important to the Michael Myers mythos get murdered with little effort.
Rachel Carruthers
Although Rachel Carruthers isn't one of the most famous final girls, she still won people's hearts when she protected her foster sister Jamie from her murderous uncle, Michael, in Halloween 4. But the following movie would be her end.
Early in the movie, Michael stalks Rachel through her house before brutally murdering her with a pair of scissors. It's both brutal and sad to watch give Rachel's relationship with Jamie, and her death took many by surprise, who were expecting the character to last a lot longer in the movie instead of getting killed off right at the start by Haddonfield's deadliest murderer.
Marion Chambers (Blumhouse Continuity)
Sam Loomis' assistant, Marion Chambers, may not be as famous as him, but her death in Halloween Kills certainly is.
Cornered by Michael in a car, Chambers attempts to use a gun to shoot the killer, only to find that the gun is empty (which led to Michael stabbing her to death). Although fans expected her to die as soon as the scene began, it's still shocking to see it done, especially in such a cliché way like running out of bullets right when the killer is in the perfect spot to be attacked.
Tommy Doyle
Tommy's age might have saved him during his first encounter with Michael in the original Halloween, but as an adult, he was eligible for death.
Leading a lynch mob while coining one of Halloween Kills' most memorable lines, Tommy attempts to take Michael down only to be beaten to death with his own baseball bat. Fans were stunned to see this death happen, especially given that Tommy was another original movie character that played a big role in the movie. But even this wasn't enough to save him, leading to his shockingly brutal death at Michael's hands.
Kevin
Slasher movies very rarely target little kids, mostly making the victims being adults and high school teenagers. But Michael broke that trend by killing Keven in 2018's Halloween.
After investigating a crash, Kevin and his father are both killed by Michael, who kills the child in his car when he tries to call for help.
Kevin's death was completely shocking, giving the character's age, and many fans were expecting him to escape Michael and call for help. Kevin remains one of Michael's youngest victims in the history of the franchise.
Jamie Lloyd
Jamie Lloyd served as the main protagonist for the second trilogy of Halloween films, making her death at the start Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers even more shocking.
After escaping the Man in Black with her child, Jamie is pursued by Michael, who causes her to crash before proceeding to kill her. Seeing the young child go through so much in the previous two films only to be violently murdered took audiences by surprise, especially since they were expecting her to survive and serve as the film's main protagonist, a role that went to Tommy Doyle.
Laurie Strode (H20 Continuity)
Laurie Strode is one of the original final girls, a character with a lot of great quotes and true grit. But this wasn't enough to save her from Michael in a previous timeline.
In Halloween: Resurrection, after seemingly defeating Michael, Laurie makes the careless mistake to confirm that she's killing the right person this time, having killed an innocent man in the previous movie, allowing Michael to stab her and throw her off the roof of the building. Seeing the most famous final girl in all of horror meet a quick end due to such a careless mistake shocked fans, though this move wouldn't save the movie from being one of the worst in the franchise.
Karen Nelson
Halloween Kills had a number of shocking deaths scattered throughout, but none were as shocking as the death of Laurie Strode's daughter, Karen.
In the film's final minutes, Karen is lured up into the old Myers home, where she is suddenly attacked from behind and murdered by Michael to close out the movie. This death took everyone by complete surprise, as they all thought that, with only minutes left, all the Strode women were safe. Even more shocking was that there were still others outside, including Allyson, who failed to hear her encounter with Michael, leading to her shocking death.
