One of the events players can come across in playthrough of Gwent: Rogue Mage is randomized. This means that players can encounter the Trickster in different areas under varying circumstances.
The Trickster in Gwent: Rogue Mage is a sylvan that asks players riddles. If they answer correctly, they win a prize. Give the wrong answer, and they will have to give something up. These questions will test players’ knowledge of The Witcher lore. If players aren’t feeling up to the task, they can refuse to play the riddle game and continue on their way with no penalty.
Still, since players must build up their deck in Gwent: Rogue Mage, it makes sense to take a crack at the riddles. Many questions will test players’ knowledge of Witcher lore, though Gwent: Rogue Mage explores the first Witcher's origins. Some of the questions are anachronistic. For example, King Foltest wouldn’t be born for another few hundred years after the events of Gwent: Rogue Mage, but then again, the answers pertain to cards in the game, so it’s a design choice.
Answering the Trickster’s Riddles in Gwent: Rogue Mage
Correctly answering a riddle in Gwent: Rogue Mage gives players the achievement “I Understood That Reference!” Since the game has random playthroughs, players will get different questions, and some may appear more frequently than others. This means that it’s possible that some questions have not been encountered yet, but here are the questions the Trickster has asked so far and the answers to them.
- Question: These little guys are almost cute if you ignore the whole vicious killer aspect. What am I? Answer: Nekker. Do note, that Gwent: Rogue Mage was originally called Project Golden Nekker.
