Senior Creative Director Jean-Francois Dugas has outlined some of the similarities shared between Eidos Montréal's next major outing, Guardians of the Galaxy.

The crew reportedly began early work on the spacefaring adventure not long after shipping 2016's Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. In addition to also helming development on Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Eidos Montréal served in a role for Crystal Dynamic's Square Enix-published brand the Star-Lord-led experience has embraced as an influence, though.

Speaking with narrative choices are concerned. The developer told Rock Paper Shotgun:

"[GOTG's] much more like a big celebration, like a Hollywood blockbuster, so to speak. We had to really shift gears and look at what we were doing with a totally different eye. But we brought a lot of the things we love from Deus Ex, like the choices."

Whether or not the choices in Guardians of the Galaxy will run as deep as those in the Deus Ex prequels remains a mystery. But developers from Eidos Montréal previously teased that GOTG will feature even more dialogue than their Deus Ex titles. Of course, this could be due to more main characters appearing on screen in GOTG, many of whom love to talk.

Since the game's E3 2021 unveiling, the studio and publisher Square Enix have shown plenty of the title in action. Just recently, in fact, fans were treated to a look at Lady Hellbender, an exotic monster collector the Guardians will try to deceive in a con job.
