The best possible Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1. Director James Gunn is currently busy with the production of the threequel. While he's keeping specific plot details under wraps, he's also been giving fans updates regarding what to expect from the film. That includes a tease of the surprises he has in store for the public. 

Due to various reasons, Avengers: Endgame and that it will debut Will Poulter's Adam Warlock. Aside from the film's actual narrative, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will also feature fun cameos.

In a recent social media post, Gunn revealed that they were in the process of Avengers: Infinity War, Mantis (Pom Klementieff) mentioned him again, proving that Star-Lord continued to talk about him.

Gunn has been forthcoming in saying that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will wrap up his Marvel Studios trilogy. The director has also been open about one or two deaths in the movie, setting up fans for an emotional narrative. Given these, Gunn will also make sense to reference his last two films and tie up loose plot threads. While at it, the filmmaker could also opt to further evoke the feeling of nostalgia via the threequel's cameos, and bringing in Milano and/or Bacon will accomplish that. For what it's worth, there are already circulating rumors that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has cast Bacon. Although, it's uncertain what role he's playing, assuming that the casting pans out. Aside from playing himself, Gunn can also just give him his own character. 

As fun as the idea of seeing potential cameos in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, it's safe to say that fans are most excited about the movie's actual story. Immediately after the cosmic team debuted, they became fan favorites. And now that their story is wrapping up, viewers are understandably eager to learn how their collective (and some individual) arc ends.
