Chop is a loyal canine companion in Grand Theft Auto V. The Rottweiler is gifted to Franklin, one of GTA 5's playable characters, by Lamar Davis, and remains by Franklin's side for the majority of the game. The AI for Chop means players can interact with the dog in a variety of ways. However, there are some interactions a lot of GTA players totally miss - and at least one of them should be avoided completely.

Chop is a beloved part of GTA 5, which is why a lot of fans are requesting canine companions for GTA 6 as well. Upon receiving Chop in the main story, Franklin can interact with the Rottweiler in a number of ways. Playing tug-of-war with Chop, for example, will increase the dog's happiness. Chop, much like a real dog, can also learn new tricks if players take the time to teach him. The fun with Chop doesn't stop there, though, as players can also take him for walks and customize his collar.

While these animal companion mechanics are great, some of Chop's other interactions can be completely missed by players. For example, when listening to GTA 5's radio, Chop will bark more often if players turn the station to a talk show. Apparently, the pooch prefers listening to music instead, so it's a good thing Rockstar Games has added in even more music stations to Grand Theft Auto 5. However, that's not the only Chop interaction players might miss in GTA 5.

GTA 5: Chop's Most-Missed Interactions Explained

Chop is restrained by Franklin

Driving a vehicle with Chop as a enger means it's impossible to bail out of that vehicle. Instead, it will come to a complete stop, no matter how fast the player is driving. This is most likely to ensure players don't bail out of a fast-moving vehicle with poor Chop still inside. One other commonly missed Chop interaction also regards Chop's safety, and it's one players will need to avoid if they want to keep their precious pooch alive.

Franklin can throw a live grenade for Chop to fetch, which can sadly result in the dog getting seriously injured or even killed. This is most likely due to Chop's AI being unable to distinguish between balls and GTA 5's grenades, or perhaps it's to show that a real dog would likely chase after a live grenade or tennis ball in equal measure. Whatever the reason, players will need to be extra careful with grenades, especially after they teach Chop how to fetch. Otherwise, their beloved canine companion may not survive.

These are some of the Chop interactions GTA 5 players often miss. Most of these interactions are harmless, like Chop's barking at talk shows, and players being unable to bail out of vehicles when Chop is along for the ride. However, throwing a live grenade for Chop to fetch is definitely one of the more deadly interactions in Grand Theft Auto V, and players who love the Rottweiler should definitely avoid it.
