Summary
- The GTA+ subscription service may be expanding to Nintendo Switch.
- Rockstar Games could consider Cloud versions for GTA Online and GTA V on Switch to overcome technical limitations.
- Uncertainty on how GTA+ may impact the Grand Theft Auto VI remains.
While Rockstar Games' very own subscription service GTA+ may not have the wide variety of games afforded by the likes of Xbox Game and PlayStation Plus, it's still quietly chugging on as evidenced by a new report that it may be coming to even more platforms. The plan provides subscribers with access to a range of the developer's most beloved games while also providing some additional benefits for those who spend plenty of time in Grand Theft Auto Online. If reports are to be believed, it could soon do all of this on the go.
Per VGC, X (formerly Twitter) TezFunz2 shared screenshots of the GTA+ website which states that available platforms include the Nintendo Switch; the service has previously only been accessible on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation.
While several Rockstar games are playable on the Switch, several of the titles included in the subscription have yet to be ported to the hybrid console. LA Noire, Red Dead Redemption, and Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - Definitive Edition can be purchased for the Switch but GTA Online is not on Nintendo's console, sparking confusion amongst the community.

How to Unlock The GTA+ Subscription Rewards
GTA+ is the subscription available for GTA Online. It costs $5.99 a month and will give players access to certain content early.
Could GTA+ Come To Nintendo Switch?
It May Be Odd But It's Possible
The addition of Nintendo Switch to GTA+'s platforms does initially appear to be an odd decision considering the most appealing parts of the subscription service are the various in-game benefits it grants to GTA Online players. The free games included in the package, two of which (GTA: Liberty City Stories and GTA: Chinatown Wars) aren't even available for Switch, are more of an added benefit than the core deal. Having a subscription service available on a console that doesn't GTA Online certainly seems like an odd move.
With that being said, it's possible that Rockstar is looking at bringing more of its games over to Nintendo Switch. Even if Grand Theft Auto V and Online aren't compatible with the Switch, there's a chance the studio could be looking into Cloud versions of both games. In instances where a game is too much of a technical demand on the Switch's internals, developers can opt to release a version that's played through the Cloud but these are generally considered to be inferior versions.
Whatever the case may be, many players are wondering whether the current iteration of GTA+ will have some impact on the Grand Theft Auto VI. Rockstar Games has yet to address whether it plans on incorporating some benefits for the sixth game into the service but GTA could certainly help more consumers climb upon the platform. Only time will tell how the company plans on handling its next major release.
