Despite the game’s age, Stardew Valley maintains its relevance with its various updates and quaint game style. Allowing players to do anything from farming to exploring different landscapes, players can find themselves performing a myriad of tasks as they experience the timeless game. One of the game’s most prominent features is the farming system.
Players are virtually guaranteed to have a garden or farm of some sort where they can grow a variety of plants for a variety of purposes. One of these crop types includes ancient fruit. Used as a gift and as a component for genie pants, the fruit can also be made into an expensive wine that sells for 1,650g at a bare minimum. This makes the fruit a favorite for anyone who wants to earn a lot of gold in a relatively short amount of time.
How to get Ancient Fruit in Stardew Valley
As any reader can guess, players first need to find ancient seeds before they can grow ancient fruits. To obtain the first batch of ancient seeds, players will want to regularly visit the Travelling Cart since there is a very small chance that ancient seeds will be in the Traveling Marchant’s inventory. For players who don’t want to rely on RNG, players will instead want to find an artifact that is also named “Ancient Seed”. Looted from artifact spots in the Cindersap Forest and the Mountains, this artifact can be donated to the Museum. This will prompt Gunther to reward the player with a packet of ancient seeds that can be planted as well as giving players a recipe to convert ancient seeds relics into ancient seeds the player can plant.
Now that the player has some seeds, they can be planted at the player’s farm. The first growth cycle is 28 days long, but once the plant matures the cycle is reduced to 7 days and will produce ancient fruit at the end of each cycle. If the player needs more ancient fruit seeds, they can either place an ancient fruit inside a seed maker or make use of the ancient seed recipe.
The ancient fruits themselves have a base value of 550g, and can be presented as gifts to certain characters. They can also be used alongside starplants to create genie pants at very profitable enterprise.
Stardew Valley is available on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Linux, iOS, and Android.
