The co-founder of Rockstar Games says he's thankful they're not releasing Red Dead Redemption 2 in just a few days, others are still awaiting the next game in the Grand Theft Auto series.
Grand Theft Auto 6 will be going back to Vice City and will be released around 2021 or 2022. Even though there have been many rumors about the next game and it is a highly anticipated title, Rockstar doesn't think it's the right time

In an interview with GQ, Rockstar Games co-founder Dan Ho says that he's thankful that they are releasing Red Dead Redemption 2 rather than Grand Theft Auto 6. Ho discussed the potential backlash the game could have received by stating:
"Both intense liberal progression and intense conservatism are both very militant, and very angry. It is scary but it’s also strange, and yet both of them seem occasionally to veer towards the absurd. It’s hard to satirize for those reasons. Some of the stuff you see is straightforwardly beyond satire. It would be out of date within two minutes, everything is changing so fast".
The last addition to the series came in 2013 with Grand Theft Auto V, which has since become the most allow gamers to play as superheroes like Iron Man or the Hulk. Even though fans of the series would love to have the sixth installment in their hands, there is still plenty of content to explore in Grand Theft Auto V.
Even if there wasn't a lot of content left to play in Grand Theft Auto V, now still might not be the greatest time to release a game as violent as a Grand Theft Auto title. In the past, Rockstar is known for relying on anticipation, often taking several years to develop a sequel to their games. That being said, the wait usually pays off for games, which will, hopefully, happen with Grand Theft Auto 6 whenever they decide to release it.
