The four heroes in Gotham Knights have over a dozen different suit styles to utilize, and Batgirl is no exception. Each is acquired through different means, be it relying on random loot drops or collecting hidden items from around the game's map. Likewise, each has a unique style, and many have ties to other media across the vast Batman universe. While there's no definitive way of ranking them, as their cosmetic appearance largely boils down to the personal taste of individual Gotham Knights fans, some draw more attention than others or simply better encom the spirit of the character.
Although the characters in Gotham Knights have unique upgrade trees and other traits, they share similarities regarding certain features. Notably, the suit sets are consistent across all four heroes: Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, and Red Hood. They range from the starting outfits, automatically unlocked at the start of the game, to costumes more overtly inspired by the comics. It's worth noting that even if the suits all come from the same sets, they don't necessarily look exactly alike. Each character's outfit is still visually unique. To that end, it will likely be worthwhile for dedicated fans to aim to collect every single available suit in Gotham Knights, though some of Batgirl's suits are better-looking than others.
14 - Knight Ops Is One Of Gotham Knights' More Disappointing Designs
The Knight Ops suit transmogs provide a gritty look for Gotham Knights' heroes. Batgirl's face is shielded by a heavy mask, and the outfit's wide range of pouches, armor, and tactical gear complement Batgirl's acrobatic combat in Gotham Knights. Unfortunately, the rest of the costume lacks any real impact and loses many of the more stand-out elements of Batgirl's appearance. The dull colors in particular leave a lot to be desired.
13 - Neon Noir's Color Palette Is Too Distracting For Gotham Knights
Every suit that falls under the Neon Noir transmog makes use of bright colors, as one might be able to guess from the name. They also use visibly different fabrics from those seen on most Gotham Knights outfits. Batgirl's, however, ends up looking cheap and tacky, especially thanks to the use of so many shades of purple. It's an interesting idea, but it isn't carried out very well.
12 - Batgirl's Talon Design In Gotham Knights Isn't Owl Enough
In order to unlock the Talon suit for Batgirl, players will need to examine five of Alfred's energy signatures in Gotham Knights. This suit transmog revolves around owl-themed details, based around the Court of Owls. Like most of the other suits in this set, Batgirl's Talon outfit includes owl feathers across the suit and a completely covered face.
Unfortunately, the design looks too busy thanks to her costume's signature color palette, and the mask doesn't resemble owl eyes enough to tie it all back together. The other three heroes all have a more consistent look in their Talon suits, and the owl feathers aren't as overwhelming and distracting. Overall, Batgirl's owl-themed look isn't quite iconic enough to claim the title of one of Gotham Knights' strongest designs.
11 - Batgirl's Metal Suit In Gotham Knights Is Cool, But Not Impressive
As the name indicates, the Metal suit transmog is an entirely metal outfit that dons Gotham Knights' heroes in protective armor from head to toe. It seems practical in theory, as even knowing all the enemy weaknesses in Gotham Knights may not be enough to shield its characters from taking serious damage. In practice, though, Batgirl's Metal costume looks so similar to many of her other outfits that the impact just isn't there. On the other hand, it makes strong use of her standard color palette and is an entirely believable look for the character.
10 - Shinobi Is One Of Gotham Knights' Busiest Suit Transmogs
Much like Batgirl's Talon suit, the Shinobi transmog in Gotham Knights is a little too busy to look cohesive. Various different materials and colors scattered across the costume make it hard to focus on the overall whole, and even the hair is more distracting than complimentary. Although the Shinobi suits are an interesting stylistic choice to explore, Batgirl's suit is one of the weakest in Gotham Knights. It doesn't help that it generally won't be unlocked until later on in the game, meaning depending on how long Gotham Knights takes to beat, players could be working toward it for hours.
9 - Privateer Is Unique, But Doesn't Fit Gotham Knights' Heroes
Gotham Knights' Privateer suits seem almost pirate-based, with heavy coats and leather accessories that vary significantly from the more standard costumes worn by the game's heroes. While that does immediately make Batgirl's Privateer transmog eye-catching among the rest of the lineup, it also means it strays pretty far away from what one might expect out of the famous hero's wardrobe. Even down to the mask, there are very few details that align with the type of suit fans have come to associate Batgirl with.
This may be even more essential due to the fact that, in the eyes of many Batman fans, it was important for Batgirl to make an impact in this game. Arguably, Gotham Knights' Batgirl has the most to prove out of all its heroes. The canceled movie has meant her character has been out of the spotlight for a while lately. Hopefully, the large role she plays in Gotham Knights can bring her back into focus.
8 - Batgirl's Demon Suit In Gotham Knights Needs More Variety
Batgirl's Demon attire is almost entirely white and grey, which unfortunately makes it look bland compared to how much the colors pop on her other outfits. Despite that, there are quite a few interesting elements to the suit. The full-face mask works better than the one utilized in Gotham Knights' Knight Ops suit transmog thanks to its material, and the arm and leg wrappings sell the suit's concept well. With a little more variety, it could easily have been one of the better-designed DC costumes in Gotham Knights.
7 - Year One Is A Unique Gotham Knights Suit For Batgirl
Gotham Knights' Year One suits all look homemade, embodying the ideals and spirit of the heroes without relying on fancy materials or any of the visuals that would come to define them later on in the franchise. Batgirl's is no exception, featuring colors that aren't typically seen on her costumes as well as hair that doesn't quite seem to work with her mask properly. That said, the orange and purple isn't a very good combination compared to her usual yellow and purple, and the hair is impractical to the point of being distracting.
6 - Eternal Solidly Embodies Batgirl's Character In Gotham Knights
The Eternal suit transmog has all the workings of a solid Batgirl look, helping to show what makes Batgirl unique in Gotham Knights. Her purple, gold, and black color palette is out in full force in a comics-based design. However, the heavy use of yellow on the suit's bottom half and the striped black fabric down the middle upsets the balance of the outfit.
In order to collect the Eternal suits, players will have to either collect all the individual pieces or their crafting blueprints. Gotham Knights allows players to craft a wide variety of things, from new outfits to weapons. Each requires certain materials, though, which can be gathered from different areas across the map of Gotham.
5 - Titan Is A Fresh Concept For Gotham Knights' Batgirl
The Titan suits in Gotham Knights can be collected once players have completed each hero's Knighthood Challenge. Inspired by the Teen Titans team from the DC universe, it's another indication that Gotham Knights could preclude a Teen Titans game. Batgirl's inclusion in the set provides her with a brand-new style of costume, one that utilizes a stylish mixture of dark shades with gold accents. The costume has a fair amount of bulk to it, too, making it feel like a proper protective suit for a highly recognizable hero.
4 - Knighthood Gives Batgirl A Classic Batman Look
As plain as the Knighthood suit may look, given it's all black, it's a look that leans heavily into classic Batman design choices. It's also a major reward for players, coming only once they've managed to successfully complete Gotham Knights' story mode. The extensive details make the suit look fluid in combat, and a gold outline on the suit's logo gives Batgirl just enough of a splash of color to make the ensemble work. That, coupled with a recognizable cowl, it's an example of how Gotham Knights makes players miss Batman in the best way possible.
3 - New Guard Is Batgirl's Default Suit In Gotham Knights
The New Guard outfits are Gotham Knights' default suits, but despite how easy they are to acquire, they've earned their spot as one of the best looks in the game. Each brings something new to the game's four heroes while still pulling in elements from other pieces of Batman media. Batgirl's suit in particular strikes a balance between recognizable and fresh, with its slight yellow accents and basic mask shape serving to keep everything simple.
Gotham Knights' reception has been relatively divisive since its release in late October. This could be due to its unique approach to the standard Batman formula, focusing more on the Batman Family than the titular hero himself. Some Gotham Knights reviews label it unique but flawed, bringing a new identity to an extensive game universe. Arguably, the New Guard suit transmogs exemplify that.
2 - Knightwatch Encomes Everything Gotham Knights' Batgirl Should Be
Batgirl's Knightwatch suit may very well be her most comic-accurate appearance in the game. The materials used for the suit's black and gold colors create a stark contrast, and everything from the angles on her boots to the cowl shape resembles classic Batman media. Furthermore, every other hero in the set likewise receives a dramatic new take on some of their most iconic outfits.
1 - Beyond Is Gotham Knights' Most Stand-Out Batgirl Suit Design
Lastly, Batgirl's Beyond suit is a drastic change from many of the others featured in Gotham Knights. It could theoretically serve as a great way to stand out while playing Gotham Knights multiplayer with friends. While it still utilizes the black and gold color palette that made the Knightwatch transmog stand out, it takes every little element and dramatizes it, creating a futuristic costume that highlights the technology involved with being a hero in Gotham. It's one of the most creative choices made in Gotham Knights, and shows off the extent of the game's customization options.
