The story for Apple TV+’s Godzilla: King of the Monsters’ original Titans. Confirmed to be in development for Apple’s streaming service, the MonsterVerse spinoff series will explore the aftermath of Godzilla’s fight with the MUTOs, the emergence of the Titans, and the mystery surrounding Monarch. Based on what’s known about the show, the series has the potential to bring back some of the creatures introduced in previous MonsterVerse installments.

Among the many Titans that exist in Godzilla and Kong’s cinematic universe are Behemoth, Scylla, and Methuselah. The three Titans and the third MUTO were created by the MonsterVerse to provide Godzilla: King of the Monsters with additional creatures that weren’t Toho properties. Due to the budget concerns that come with purchasing the rights of Toho’s monsters, it was deemed necessary for the MonsterVerse to have at least a few original Titans. The trio of monsters made their debut in King of the Monsters as some of the Titans awakened by King Ghidorah’s call. At the end of the movie, the three – ed by Rodan and the Third MUTO – accepted Godzilla as their new alpha.

Behemoth, Methuselah, and Scylla missed out on Apple TV+’s Godzilla show indicates that it will take place between the 2014 film and King of the Monsters, it’s possible that one or perhaps all three of these creatures haven’t been discovered yet. If not, the Godzilla show can be used to explain how they were found and the events that led to Monarch building containment facilities around them. The series could see Monarch head to Brazil to investigate Behemoth, cross paths with Scylla in Arizona, or have an encounter with Methuselah in .

Godzilla Titan Methuselah

Looking at the show’s place in the MonsterVerse timeline and the progression of events, it makes sense for the series to revisit Behemoth, Methuselah, Scylla, and some of King of the Monsters’ missing Titans. In King of the Monsters, it was revealed that during the gap between the first two Godzilla movies, Monarch rapidly uncovered a slew of new Titans. The series taking place during a period when so many monsters were being unearthed will enable it to properly explore these Titan discoveries.

The Third MUTO wouldn’t fit during this time timeframe since she wasn’t found until Ghidorah woke her up in Godzilla: King of the Monsters, but any of the others could easily be shown. Apple TV+’s Godzilla show taking this route seems likely, especially since coming to with the existence of monsters is said to be a core element of the series. Scylla, Methuselah, or Behemoth could be one of the first monsters that humanity met after the San Francisco battle. If so, more could be learned about their behavior, their history in the MonsterVerse, and whatever abilities they may possess.
