The Godzilla vs Kong, but what could be the reason for the trip? Skull Island is the home of Kong, and a likely setting for at least part of the action that will take place in the fourth MonsterVerse installment.
Following perhaps through one of Kong's ancestors. One of the newspaper headlines in the credits even compared the two, while another teased Monarch's activities on Skull Island.
One article in the movie's credits, titled "New Titans Drawn to Skull Island?", appears to directly tie into the plot of Godzilla vs. Kong, and labels the region as the "epicenter of Titan sightings". But what's the explanation for why the Titans would want to travel to Skull Island? First of all, it's important to point out that in Kong: Skull Island, it was discovered that the place is one of the entry points into the Hollow Earth tunnels. However, it's not the only gateway into Hollow Earth. Monarch found another way in during King of the Monsters, and more could exist all over the world.
It could be that the Titans are being "drawn" to the gateway underneath Skull Island because something has gained their attention. Monarch, whose next mission is to find the Godzilla movie.
Alternatively, the crowded with giant monsters battling it out for supremacy.
