The second trailer for Kong: Skull Island, an origin story for the Eighth Wonder of the World. Even back then, it was clear the studios' longterm plan was for Godzilla and Kong to eventually battle one another in a crossover movie.

Before that happens, however, Godzilla will take on Krampus. It was Dougherty who confirmed the new King of the Monsters trailer would premiere at CCXP, shortly before releasing online the day after.

WB and Dougherty have now made good on their promise and released the new King of the Monsters trailer online for everyone to see. Much like Stranger Things star is shown calling for help on a radio, in the face of - what else? - an imminent giant monster attack. For more, watch the trailer below, then check out the film's latest poster.

Brown stars in King of the Monsters as Madison Russell, a seemingly ordinary teenager whose mother - the paleobiologist Dr. Emma Russell (Vera Farmiga) - humanity is understandably wary of these creatures and wants to know which ones are here to destroy us... and which ones are here to keep us safe from the others. They won't have to wait long for an answer either, if the huge monster brawl teased near the end of this promo is any indication.

The big question right now is humans in the Godzilla sequel are coming back for Godzilla vs. Kong, so there may be more to them and their plot threads than meets the eye. Either way, it definitely looks like Godzilla: King of the Monsters will deliver the goods when it comes to giant monster spectacle.
