Teen shows Dawson's Creek both take place in small towns full of characters with big dreams, but that's not all they have in common. While the former is funnier than the latter, they both have large fanbases and explore what it's like to come of age while experiencing love, heartbreak, success and failure. Rory is torn between two love interests while in high school, just like Joey loves both Dawson and Pacey.

Since these characters live in a similar charming town, it's fun to think about who would become best friends and who would hate each other on sight if they were given the chance to meet.

Would Work: Emily And Grams

Emily is known for smart insults and so is Jen's grandmother Evelyn, whom everyone calls Grams. The two would definitely get along well if they met.

Both characters are bored by small talk and want to make a real connection with someone, and while Emily is more interested in parties and living in a big house than Grams, the two would still enjoy talking. Maybe Grams would the DAR and she and Emily would have fun causing some havoc and making the organization better.

Turn Ugly: Rory And Joey

Rory and Joey are bookworms who love school and share an innocence, but it doesn't seem like they would like each other very much.

Joey would be envious that Rory has a wonderful home life and her relationship with Lorelai would be a sad reminder that her own mom is gone. She would also dislike that Rory's grandparents paid for Chilton and Yale, and she would ignore all the hard work that Rory has put into her future. It also seems likely that Rory would find Joey sarcastic and unfriendly. While Rory could be a little harsh, too, that was mostly when she was in a bad mood. The rest of the time, she was sweet and bubbly.

Would Work: Jess And Pacey

Jess on Gilmore Girls and Pacey on Dawson's Creek have a lot in common. While Jess is a rebellious high schooler and that might not seem like the influence that Pacey needs, his love of reading might inspire Pacey to form a reading habit of his own. People underestimate Pacey's intelligence and he and Jess would have interesting talks.

Jess would show Pacey that it's okay not to love school and that it's possible to find a non-academic path forward. He enjoys hard work as he puts in hours at his high school job, and it would be good for Pacey to see that he can pursue a bright future without feeling bad about not wanting to go to college.

Turn Ugly: Paris And Dawson

It would definitely be total chaos if Paris and Dawson met each other. Within moments, it seems like Paris would hurt Dawson's feelings, as he's more sensitive and delicate than she is.

Paris would wonder why he complained so much when he has a great life, much like Joey wondered at the beginning of Dawson's Creek, and Dawson would think that Paris was too angry and mean. They wouldn't be able to look past their differences.

Would Work: Luke And Bessie

Luke keeps his diner throughout all of Gilmore Girls and he would see a kindred business-oriented spirit in Joey's older sister Bessie.

Bessie struggles to make things work when raising Joey, and opening up a bed and breakfast in season 3 seems to be the best way to move forward in her life. Luke would be interested in visiting and hearing how she started the place, and maybe she would even inspire him. They would have a lot to chat about and they have similar personalities since they can be sarcastic and strong-willed.

Turn Ugly: Jess And Jen

It seems like Jess would be a bad influence on Jen, who struggles to find the motivation to care about school and even, for a period, her friends and family.

Jen loves her best friend Jack because they help each other through the ups and downs of life and he knows all about her difficult past. Jess and Jen are both too guarded to get to know each other really well, so it seems likely that they would put up walls and dislike each other.

Would Work: Lane And Audrey

With her love of music and friendly, honest personality, Lane would get along really well with Joey's college roommate Audrey.

They both love a rock and roll kind of lifestyle, as Audrey s a band with Emma, so they have this in common. Both Lane and Audrey feel misunderstood by the people in their lives; most notably, Lane doesn't feel her mother knows the real her, and Audrey struggles to fit in. They would love having each other in their lives and maybe Audrey could even Lane and Zack's band.

Turn Ugly: Dean And Abby

It's hard to think of two characters who have less in common than Dean and Abby. While Dean has a kind heart, Abby is angry and bitter and wants to hurt other people.

Abby is a bully who has a lot of pain but doesn't want to open up to anyone or be vulnerable. She would rather bury those feelings than share too much with even Jen, with whom she becomes friends before she tragically dies. Dean and Abby wouldn't understand each other and while Dean would think Abby was too mean, Abby would consider him too nice and friendly.

Would Work: Sookie And Andie

Sookie made many mistakes as a chef but could always be counted to make a delicious meal or impressive dessert.

Sookie and Andie share a bubbly, sweet, optimistic personality, and they would get along really well. It's easy to picture Andie grabbing a meal at the Dragonfly Inn and chatting with Sookie. As a naturally curious person, Andie would want to know all about Sookie's ion for cooking and how she became a chef, and they would have great conversations. Sookie would also enjoy talking to Andie about the time she spent in Italy before college, as she graduated early.

Turn Ugly: Logan And Jack

Jack is a sweet and loyal friend who has been there for his mom and sister during their struggles with mental health. While he and Logan share difficult and demanding fathers who don't believe in them, that's where their similarities end.

Logan is a wealthy kid who gets into a lot of mischief, and Jack wouldn't like how Logan assumes that things will always go his way. They wouldn't have much to talk about and would realize pretty fast that they weren't going to be friends.
