The and Team Logan all have devoted ers who wish Rory would end up with one of the three guys forever. Logan, Jess, and Dean each bring something different to Rory's life, but Dean is her first boyfriend ever.
Dean is Rory's high school crush who becomes much more than that over time. From Doose's to dance marathons and town scandals, a lot happens with Dean and Rory. For the fans who miss seeing Rory and Dean together, these ten episodes will be a nice trip down memory lane.
Pilot Episode
The very first episode of Gilmore Girls, which is simply called "Pilot," brings Rory and Dean together for the first time in the series. Rory has packed up her things at school and is ready to move on to Chilton, but not before she meets Dean in the hallway. He frightens her by standing over her while she's crouched down picking up some of her stuff.
Rory quotes Rosemary's Baby, Dean immediately knows the reference, and the rest is history. Dean has just moved to Stars Hollow, so they talk about Connecticut some. They then discuss literature, and Dean reveals that he's been watching Rory read. Kind of creepy, but he makes it sound sweet.
Cinnamon's Wake
The fifth episode of season one is the next time Dean comes around. Rory sneaks into Doose's while Dean is working so that she can be around him, and she gets a lesson from Miss Patty on sensual fruit before leaving with nothing but a head of lettuce.
The sparks start to fly, and Dean comes to see Rory at Babette's on the night of Babette's cat's wake. Rory and Dean's scene at the end of the episode is adorable and entirely worth a rewatch.
Kiss And Tell
This episode is not only one of the best for autumn, but it's one of the best for Rory and Dean. Rory sneaks into Doose's again just in time for Thanksgiving shopping. She and Dean flirt and share their first kiss, which frightens Rory and leaves her running out of the store. Lorelai finds out, which leads to an awkward talk with Rory.
The Gilmore girls go to Doose's for some junk food, and Lorelai spontaneously asks Dean to come over for movie night. This gives the episode its most memorable scene - Dean, Rory, and Lorelai eating junk food and watching the movie together.
Rory's Dance
How could anyone ever forget when Dean takes Rory to the dance at Chilton? Lorelai makes her daughter's stunning dress by hand, and Dean looks pretty handsome, too.
Unfortunately, a little trouble from Tristan leads the night in a different direction. Dean and Rory's cozy slumber in Miss Patty's dance studio becomes the talk of the town the next morning.
That Damn Donna Reed
Another season one favorite is Rory's attempt to teach Dean a lesson about gender roles. While this is clearly not Dean at his finest, it's a memorable example of Dean and Rory's dating era.
He might not have really learned the lesson, but Rory has fun trying to get through to him.
Star-Crossed Lovers And Other Strangers
When Dean has the guts to tell Rory he loves her, she doesn't say it back. This episode will take viewers back to the pinnacle of their relationship, a waiting game to see how serious these two are going to get.
Dean builds Rory a whole car for their anniversary and takes her out to a very nice dinner, but she makes a statement by not committing to something she isn't ready for, even if Dean doesn't take it too well.
Love, Daisies, And Troubadours
This episode is already unique for its dueling troubadours, but the high school drama puts a firm season one stamp on the whole thing. Tristan is causing trouble and almost gets in the way, again. Dean drives all the way to Chilton and is furious to see Rory standing next to Tristan.
When Rory urges Dean to stay, he asks her why he should. The classic Rory answer, "Because I love you, you idiot!" is born, and Dean and Rory reunite with a long kiss.
They Shoot Gilmores, Don't They?
While the dance marathon episode is an epic disaster, it's still one that fans of Dean and Rory think about. They miss the drama between Dean and Rory before everything with Jess and Dean comes to a head.
Everyone is literally dancing around the issue until it can't be avoided any longer. This autumnal Gilmore Girls episode is one of the most notorious love triangle moments.
That'll Do, Pig
Viewers who really love Dean and Rory might even miss when the two of them tried to be friends. This happens in the third season after Jess and Rory get together.
Dean and Rory awkwardly bump into each other in town and decide to sit down and chat at Weston's. They agree to be friends and wind up hanging out at the Winter Carnival, which makes Jess livid, naturally. After all the drama of season two, it's nice to see Rory and Dean trying to be friendly in season three.
We Got Us A Pippi Virgin!
Fast forward to season five, and Rory and Dean have already gotten into some trouble. Rory has put herself in the middle of Dean's marriage, and Dean has willingly been unfaithful to his wife.
Everything is all messed up, but Dean and Rory still try to go about a normal relationship. Movie night was never so weird, but of Team Dean still like seeing Rory and her old beau attempt a social event with Lorelai and Luke.
