The only live-action versions of Ghost Rider in Marvel projects since Nicolas Cage led two movies as the character have been in Agents of SHIELD. While Gabriel Luna wants to reprise his role as the Robbie Reyes version of the hero in the MCU, Marvel has not made the show canon to the franchise at this moment. Marvel has announced Avengers: Doomsday's main cast, but more heroes are expected to appear in the MCU movie, and a few powerhouses fit the bill.
The MCU's first Deadpool movie had concept art of Nicolas Cage's Ghost Rider, but he did not appear. As such, Marvel Studios is keeping the hero in mind for MCU projects, which opens the door for either the live-action Ghost Riders to return via the multiverse or for a new actor to take on the role. Based on his popularity, proven acting range, and desire to play the role, Gosling would be perfect for the MCU's Ghost Rider. Additionally, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige said he would "love to find a place for him in the MCU."
Our Take On Whether Ryan Gosling Could The MCU As Ghost Rider
The Actor Is Perfect For The Marvel Franchise And The Character
Gosling has shown in movies like Drive that he has the skills to play a darker character like Ghost Rider. While his impeccable comedic timing would not be able to shine as much, that skill could come in handy for a few sarcastic remarks with the signature MCU humor. Gosling's action prowess is also well-documented, with the star leading movies like The Fall Guy and The Gray Man. Having an actor of his caliber the MCU with a ion for such a major hero as Ghost Rider would be fantastic, so I hope Ryan Gosling gets the role.
