Monster Hunter Rise, the latest entry in the franchise, continues the monster battling series hunters have enjoyed since 2004. One of the many elements of the game is not just slaying giant creatures, but using the resources they drop to create new items.
Monster broth is one of the many materials that players can loot from monsters they’ve defeated. While it might sound a little icky, monster broth is a useful resource to have around. Many different weapons in Monster Hunter Rise, different types of armor. Gathering enough of this material will help gear up players in the long run, so here’s where monster broth can be found in Rise.
Where to Find Monster Broth in Monster Hunter Rise
While there are a number of in-game quests that reward players with monster broth, the best way to farm the material is by slaying monsters that drop it and looting it from them. Currently, there are five known creatures in Monster Hunter Rise’s world that have a chance to drop it: Altaroth, Bnahabra, Rachnoid, Rakna-Kadaki, and Volvidon. The latter two of those five are classified as large monsters and have a chance to drop the monster broth. While Rakna-Kadaki has a small chance to yield the broth by carving it or breaking its body, the Volvidon has a higher chance to drop two copies of the broth as loot right after it’s beaten. Considering Volvidon is a lower threat level than Rakna-Kadaki, this fanged beast is the easier source to hunt. They can both be found in the Lava Caverns and Sandy Plains. If a hunter is running low on their monster broth supply, consider prioritizing quests that involve slaying these two beasts to kill two birds with one stone.
While those two are good sources of monster broth, they’re both considered large monsters, meaning they can be a challenge to defeat. The three other creatures mentioned above are small monsters, meaning they’re much easier to slay, and thus are easier to farm. Defeating and or carving Altaroth and Bnahabra may net a monster broth, but Rachnoid has the highest chance of any monster in the game dropping the resource after it’s been carved. These spider-like species, also found in the Sandy Plains and Lava Caverns, make for the best monster to farm monster broth from. If a hunter is ever in the northeastern portions of the Lava Cavern for a mission, consider hunting down some Rachnoid to stock up on the broth.
Monster Hunter Rise is available for Nintendo Switch.
