The Genshin Impact Version 3.2 update released the new 5-star character Nahida along with Yoimiya during the first half of the patch. The game has always featured returning characters, however, and the second half of the update will have promotional rerun banners for both Tartaglia (Childe) and Yae Miko, giving many players another opportunity to pull for these 5-star characters. The returning characters also mean that the unit's signature weapons will be featured on the Epitome Invocation weapons exclusive banner.
Tartaglia and Yae Miko's abilities and playstyles differ from one another greatly. Both characters are considered strong 5-stars, but with limited Primogems in Genshin Impact, especially for free-to-play players, choosing the correct ally will be important. The character's elemental attacks, role within a team, and disadvantages in battle must all be considered before pulling on the banners.
Genshin Impact 3.2: Tartaglia and Yae Miko Differences
Tartaglia in Genshin Impact uses a bow and wields the Hydro element in battle. He specializes in quick attacks, either from a range firing arrows at enemies, or manifesting melee weapons with his Hydro abilities and using fast slashing techniques on opponents. Yae Miko, on the other hand, uses a catalyst weapon and is considered one of the best Electro characters in Genshin Impact. Her focus in battle is to summon lightning bolts that will consistently strike enemies, while she herself can attack enemies with Electro abilities.
Tartaglia Is The Fastest Hydro Enabler/DPS In Genshin Impact
Despite using a bow, Tartaglia's Elemental Skill known as Foul Legacy: Raging Tide transforms all of his Normal and Charged attacks into Hydro melee attacks. Each strike will be infused by the element and apply Hydro status to enemies. An additional effect known as Riptide will afflict opponents with a status that will deal additional AOE Hydro damage when hit. If enemies are defeated, then a Riptide Flash will transfer the status onto other surrounding enemies. With so many Hydro applications from his Talents, Tartaglia (Childe) in Genshin Impact is still one of the best enablers in the game.
Tartaglia's Elemental Burst called Havoc: Obliteration has two variations. During the Ranged Stance, he fires a Hydro arrow into the air dealing massive AOE Hydro damage to enemies while applying the Riptide effect. In his Melee Stance, Tartaglia performs a large slash that deals even more Hydro damage to surrounding enemies compared to his Ranged Stance. The ability will also trigger a Riptide Blast, which clears all enemies' Riptide effect when hit. Doing so will cause a Hydro explosion dealing AOE damage within the element.
Tartaglia's ive Talent called Master of Weaponry increases the entire party's Normal Attack level by 1, which boosts the character's damage. The Never Ending Talent extends the Riptide's Duration by 8 seconds, and his final ive Talent called Sword of Torrents will apply Riptide on enemies when Tartaglia deals Crit damage while in his Melee Stance. Tartaglia is a highly-ranked bow character in Genshin Impact and has been a strong asset for players throughout many updates.
Yae Miko Is A Strong Electro Damage Dealer In Genshin Impact
Yae Miko's Yakan Evocation: Sesshou Sakura Talent has her leaving totem-like objects in place, which periodically strike nearby enemies with lightning. Yae Miko can leave a max of three Sesshou Sakuras and for each Sakura nearby, the level will increase, boosting Electro damage. The ability allows her to be a strong sub-DPS character, which provides players an option to quick-swap her off the field in favor of having a hyper-carry DPS out.
Her Elemental Burst known as the Great Secret Art: Tenko Kenshin has Yae Miko manifesting a Sky Kitsune which will descend down onto the battlfield, striking enemies within an AOE to deal Electro damage. The Talent will destroy all Sesshou Sakuras that are currently on the field and for each Sakuras, a Tenko Thunderbolt will hit enemies further dealing Electro damage. This ability enhanced by characters in Genshin Impact can lead to very high damage numbers.
Yae Miko's ive skill, The Shrine's Sacred Shade, will reset all the Sesshou Sakura skill cooldowns whenever her Great Secret Art: Tenko Kenshin is used. This allows Miko to reapply the lightning totems despite being destroyed when activating her Elemental Burst. Her Enlightened Blessing Talent will increase the Sesshou Sakuras damage by 0.15% for every point of Elemental Mastery stats she has. This synergizes especially well with Aggravate reaction teams as the damage will increase based on the character's total Elemental Mastery in Genshin Impact.
Genshin Impact 3.2 Banners: Is Tartaglia or Yae Miko Better
Tartaglia's Hydro application can trigger some of the best Elemental Reactions in Genshn Impact. Specifically, he can be used as an on-field hydro enabler to create reverse-vape reactions, which leads to very high damage. He can be a reliable damage dealer, but the speed at which he can apply Hydro to enemies means his purpose within a team is to help sub-DPS characters. A major weakness for Tartaglia is that his skill cooldown can become a problem for players because the longer he uses the Melee Stance, the longer the cooldown it will be. This will no doubt affect team rotations if players do not end Tartaglia's Elemental Skill at the right time.
Yae Miko in Genshin Impact is a consistent Electro character who can help trigger Elecro-related reactions while off-field. Her Elemental Skill has 100% uptime, which means players will not have to worry about cooldowns on her ability. Her Elemental Burst is one of the strongest damage-wise, and Miko can also be used on-field to apply Electro to enemies since she uses a catalyst weapon. This would mean she can be both the enabler - the one who helps allies trigger Elemental Reactions - or a driver, meaning a unit that activates the reactions. A major weakness for Yae Miko is that she requires a lot of Energy in order to activate her Burst.
If players want to utilize a variation of the National Team in Genshin Impact, which is one of the strongest teams in the game, then Tartaglia is highly recommended. He can contribute to Vaporize teams and is one of the most used characters for Spiral Abyss despite being a relatively old 5-star. For players in need of a reliable Electro DPS especially for Dendro reactions then Yae Miko will be a great asset. Both Tartaglia and Yae Miko are worth pulling for, but because Tartaglia (Childe) has a long history of usage, especially in the late game, then he would generally be the better choice.
