It’s recommended to invest in Iansan’s build in Kinich in Genshin Impact, but not all of them because of a unique ability in her kit.
Iansan’s Elemental Burst creates a Kinetic Energy Scale, which follows the active character, boosting their ATK based on Iansan’s Nightsoul points. If Iansan has less than 42 Nightsoul points, the ATK bonus scales off her Nightsoul points and her ATK. If she has at least 42 Nightsoul points, the Kinetic Energy Scale is enhanced to the Ardent state, increasing the ATK bonus and making it scale off of her ATK stat alone. Furthermore, the Scale s the distance that the active character moves (excluding Iansan in Genshin Impact), increasing Iansan’s Nightsoul points – this plays right into her kit.
Best Weapons For Iansan (Best Polearms)
There Are Several Options To Choose From
To start working on her build, you’ll need to find a good weapon. The absolute best weapon for Iansan is the 5-star polearm Calamity Queller. Shenhe’s signature polearm offers a high base ATK (741 at level 90) and a low ATK sub-stat (16.5% at level 90). The also gains a 12% All Elemental DMG Bonus and, after using a Skill, they gain Consummation, which causes ATK to increase by 3.2% per second, up to six stacks. When the is not on the field, Consummation’s ATK increase is doubled.
The table below lists the best builds for Iansan in Genshin Impact, including recommended weapons, ideal Artifact, suggested stats, and more:

Calamity Queller’s effect is perfect for Iansan, as she is expected to use her Skill, Burst, then leave the field for a huge ATK buff. Another viable 5-star polearm for Iansan is Engulfing Lightning. Raiden Shogun’s signature weapon grants a lower base ATK stat (608 at level 90) but an incredible Energy Recharge sub-stat (55.1% at level 90). Additionally, it increases ATK by 28% of the Energy Recharge above 100%, up to an 80% ATK bonus. Furthermore, the gains 30% Energy Recharge for 12 seconds after using a Burst.
Combined with a nice Energy Recharge build through Artifacts in Genshin Impact, reaching at least 180 Energy Recharge, Engulfing Lightning should allow Iansan to have her Burst available through every rotation.
If you don’t have access to any of the recommended 5-star polearms, a decent 4-star weapon for Iansan is Favonius Lance. The weapon offers an even lower base ATK stat (565 at level 90) but a great Energy Recharge sub-stat (30.6% at level 90). Additionally, CRIT Hits have a 60% chance to generate a small amount of Elemental Particles, which regenerate 6 Energy for the character, an effect that can occur once every 12 seconds. Favonius Lance’s main usage is to boost Iansan’s Energy Recharge in Genshin Impact.
Alternatively, you could equip Tamayuratei no Ohanashi. This 4-star weapon has the same base ATK stat and Energy Recharge sub-stat as Favonius Lance. However, its skill increases ATK by 20% and Movement SPD by 10% for 10 seconds when using an Elemental Skill – if you’ve reached R5 (Refinement level 5), the ATK boost is 40%. Lastly, you could also use Wavebreaker’s Fin, a F2P (free-to-play) 4-star polearm.
Tamayuratei no Ohanashi was a F2P event weapon in Genshin Impact 5.4, so players who completed the event likely have the polearm at R5.
Wavebreaker’s Fin has a higher base ATK stat (620 at level 90) and a minor ATK sub-stat (13.8% at level 90). The weapon’s skill increases the ’s Elemental Burst DMG by 0.12% for every point of the entire team’s combined maximum Energy capacity, up to 40% increased Elemental Burst DMG. Wavebreaker’s Fin’s ATK stats are what move its usage on Iansan and, even though the Burst DMG increase is good, dealing DMG is not Iansan’s main role in Genshin Impact, so the skill itself isn’t all that great.
Best Artifacts & Stats For Iansan
Iansan Only Really Needs Two Stats
As a Natlan , Iansan’s best Artifact is Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City. This Artifact set’s two-piece bonus sees that when a party member triggers Nightsoul Burst, the regenerates 6 Elemental Energy. The four-piece bonus sees that after the triggers a Reaction related to their Element, all party gain a 12% Elemental DMG Bonus for the Elements involved in the Reaction for 15 seconds. If the is in the Nightsoul’s Blessing state when this happens, all party in Genshin Impact gain an extra 28% Elemental DMG Bonus for the Elements for 20 seconds.

Genshin Impact 5.5: Should You Pull For Varesa If You Already Have Xiao?
Because of the similarities between Varesa and Xiao in Genshin Impact, players may be unsure about whether or not they pull for the new character.
When farming the Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City Artifacts, the main stat you want to go after is Energy Recharge. This stat will help ensure Iansan has her Elemental Burst up and ready with every rotation, thus constantly providing the ATK buff – try to get at least 180% Energy Recharge, especially if you’re using Calamity Queller. The next stat to try to upgrade as much as you can is ATK since this is what dictates her own ATK buff. A good sub-stat to use is Elemental Mastery, which will help enhance any Reactions Iansan is involved with.
Best Team Comps For Iansan
Iansan Is Best When Paired With DPS Who Move Around
Iansan is a versatile unit, provided that your main DPS is moving while attacking. To ensure this happens naturally, you’ll want to pair her up with characters who move during their main rotation, such as Clorinde, Kinich, and Mavuika in Genshin Impact, for example. She could even be paired up with Mualani. Ideally, because of her Artifact set, Iansan is best paired with Natlan characters but is not limited to them.
The table below lists a few team comp suggestions for Iansan:
Iansan's Best Team Comps In Genshin Impact |
|
---|---|
Hypercarry Plunging Attack Team |
|
Overloaded Team |
|
Burning Team |
|
F2P Team |

It’s worth noting that Iansan can also heal based on her ATK, but you could run her alongside Furina or Bennett to ensure your team has enough healing and extra buffs. Iansan works particularly well with Varesa in Genshin Impact, too, because the Electro DPS moves a lot during her combat phase.
Talent Priority For Iansan
Upgrade Her Elemental Burst Before Anything Else
The first Talent to level up when working on Iansan is her Elemental Burst, as this is what provides her ATK buffs, the most important part of her kit. The second priority is her Elemental Skill. While not all that important, you will be using it during rotations and it’s best to max it out to enhance her damage contribution. The last priority, which could be entirely skipped if you so desire, is her Normal Attack since Iansan will likely not be using these at all during combat in Genshin Impact.

I've Seen The Genshin Impact 5.5 Leaks, & I'm Convinced The Spiral Abyss Update Will Essentially Block The Best DPS Characters
The lineup for Spiral Abyss' Floor 12 starting in Genshin Impact 5.5 has leaked and, if true, it will make some of the best DPS characters unusable.
Because Iansan only really needs two stats to be maxed out, it’s somewhat easy to build her. There are several weapon options to choose from and various team comps you can build with Iansan as a , so finding a place to fit her into should be easy, especially if you’re desperately looking for a replacement for Bennett in Genshin Impact.
