I’ve seen new character banners in Genshin Impact 5.7, which contain new units and anticipated reruns.
Skirk and Dahlia have been confirmed as new playable characters in the patch, but the developer hasn’t revealed much about them besides their respective elements. Even so, the Version 5.7 beta tests have already detailed each of these playable characters’ gameplay kits to a full extent, highlighting that Skirk will be a 5-star Cryo DPS unit who works particularly well in Freeze teams, while Dahlia will be a 4-star Hydro shielder who operates at his best when in Freeze teams. It seems like Dahlia will be compatible with Skirk’s kit in Genshin Impact 5.7 when players lack better sustain options.
Dainsleif May Have A Ability In Genshin Impact 5.7
His Ability May Be Similar To Raiden Ei’s Help During The Mikawa Flower Festival
Although new characters, their abilities, and the character banners tend to occupy the majority of the spotlight during each patch (and, therefore, are also the most abundantly featured in leaks with every beta test), other details about Version 5.7 are currently being leaked. Most recently, leaked footage has shown Dainsleif in combat, jumping into battle to aid the player’s active character with what seems like a ing ability. Dainsleif is seen appearing above the character and plunging forward to land and create a blue-colored explosion in Genshin Impact. The leak was shared in a post tagged as “Reliable” on Reddit.

Genshin Impact 5.7 Leaks Tease Essential Artifact Update Set To Revolutionize Character Builds
A list of new QoL updates from Genshin Impact 5.7 has leaked, which includes Artifact Presets, which could enable quick-swapping builds.
The exact circumstances under which this happens are unknown, as the leaked footage showcases the animation in its isolated state rather than as part of its original context. Even so, it’s possible to interpret Dainsleif’s presence in what seems like a combat scenario as an assisting ability. s in the Reddit post comment about the possibility of Dainsleif’s leaked ability being similar to how Travelers fought alongside Raiden Ei during the Mikawa Flower Festival event from Version 5.4. During that specific battle, Raiden Shogun in Genshin Impact would help disrupt the Nightmare Fragments’ defense stance and deal damage to it.
Dainsleif May Use Pyro In Genshin Impact
The Character May Follow Skirk's Example
Even though the leak is limited to showcasing the animation for the character’s ability, it’s also possible to speculate that Dainsleif will use Pyro once he is released. In the animation, Dainsleif is seen plunging forward, leaving behind a trail of smoke. When he impacts the ground, an explosion of blue flames erupts. The knight captain of the Royal Guard of Khaenri’ah hasn’t had his element confirmed by HoYoverse, nor has it been teased previously, but this leaked animation may be indicative of his mastery over flame-adjacent abilities. Dainsleif’s character design shows he doesn’t own a Vision in Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact: Skirk Ascension & Talent Materials (Pre-Farm Guide)
You can already start pre-farming Skirk’s Ascension and Talent materials in Genshin Impact to ensure you have everything ready once you obtain her.
While he does not possess a Vision, it is expected that Dainsleif will have access to some element that would interact with the majority of the game’s elemental system. As a character from Khaenri’ah, it’s also expected that he has access to other types of abilities. However, taking into consideration a recent release, it may be possible to speculate that he adapts this unique power into a Pyro-like element for his playable release. The Skirk is also a character who does not own a Vision. In lore, Skirk possesses a unique power related to the Abyss in Genshin Impact.
Even so, Skirk’s powers are being adapted into Cryo for her release in Version 5.7. As seen in the character’s drip marketing post, shared on the official Cryo in Genshin Impact.
According to now-deleted leak posts, Skirk’s leaked Skill description mentioned that she mimics the abilities of Cryo rather than actually using them.
A similar logic may be employed to Dainsleif when adapting him into a playable character in the game. While he may not naturally wield Pyro through a Vision or a divine power, he may adapt his Khaenri’ah-related powers into Pyro as a means to become part of the playable roster. If this is the case, Dainsleif may become the first Pyro character to wield blue fire rather than the traditional red and orange flames. Given the element’s power, if Dainsleif’s release in Genshin Impact confirms he’s Pyro, he could be part of some of the best team comps.
When Is Dainsleif Being Released In Genshin Impact?
The Character May Be Released Within A Few Years
Even though I firmly believe that Dainsleif will be a Pyro character when he is adapted into the playable roster, there is no guarantee about when he will be released. Dainsleif is the exception to the rule about drip marketing posts: when HoYoverse releases new drip marketing posts for its characters, it usually serves as a teaser, indicating that they will be released in the next patch. Skirk’s and Dahlia’s new drip marketing posts indicate that they will be released in Version 5.7 – something that has been corroborated by the aforementioned Skirk and Dahlia leaks for Genshin Impact 5.7.

Genshin Impact 6.X Leaks Claim Worst Possible Outcome For Capitano, But I'm Not Convinced Just Yet
There have been new leaks about Capitano’s release as a playable character in Genshin Impact, but I don’t believe them just yet, despite the evidence.
Dainsleif, alternatively, has had his drip marketing posts published years ago, but it’s still uncertain when he will become playable in the game. HoYoverse has not teased this in any manner, instead allowing the Traveler to interact with the elusive Khaenri’ah knight once a year. Given his connection to the protagonist, their lost sibling, and the larger story arc being told in Teyvat, it’s likely that Dainsleif will only become playable further down the line, as the developer still focuses on releasing characters who are related to the current nations – the most recent exception being Skirk in Genshin Impact.
