The first details about Varesa’s gameplay kit in new characters in Genshin Impact set to arrive after the end of the main Natlan story arc.

Among some of the rumored and teased new characters for the game during the next few months is Varesa, who has already been mentioned in the game as a member of the Collective of Plenty tribe. She is known to be a competitive eater and was one of the warriors that helped fend off the Abyssal incursion on Natlan, staying near her own tribe; which is why the Traveler has not met her yet. Now, it seems like her release is set for Genshin Impact 5.5, likely arriving in late March, and the first parts of her kit have leaked.

In addition to her rumored active abilities that players should use during combat, the leaker has also shared details about Varesa’s ive Talents and her Constellations. This leak was shared in a separate post on Mavuika in Genshin Impact, Varesa seemingly has Nightsoul mechanics connected to her abilities.

Varesa’s Leaked Gameplay Kit In Genshin Impact 5.5, Detailed

Most Of Her Kit Allegedly Revolves Around Plunging Attacks

According to the leaks, Varesa’s Normal Attacks can be performed up to three consecutive times, each dealing Electro DMG – this adds to the rumors that she will be a catalyst , which would enable her to deal Elemental DMG with regular attacks. As seen in the leak, Varesa’s Charged Attack consumes some stamina to see her perform a headbutt, dealing Nightsoul-aligned Electro DMG and propelling Varesa into the air. Varesa’s leaked Plunging Attacks deal AoE Electro DMG and, if she is in combat or hits an enemy with the attack, she regains 25 Nightsoul points in Genshin Impact.

The leak also says that once Varesa’s Nightsoul points reach the maximum amount through this method, she enters the Fiery ion state. In this special state, her Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attacks are enhanced. Varesa’s enhanced Normal Attacks deal more Electro DMG, while her enhanced Charged Attack allows her to dash forward, dealing extra Electro DMG and also propelling her into the air. Lastly, Varesa’s enhanced Plunging Attack consumes all her Nightsoul points to deal additional Nightsoul-aligned AoE Electro DMG to enemies in Genshin Impact.

With her leaked Elemental Skill, Varesa dashes forward, dealing Nightsoul-aligned Electro DMG to opponents in her Path. When this is done, she gains 20 Nightsoul points and gains the Pursuit effect. According to the leak, Pursuit increases her Interruption Resistance and allows her to perform a Charged Attack by pressing the Normal Attack button without consuming her stamina – doing this seemingly triggers the end of the Pursuit effect. Like many other Natlan characters, Varesa is rumored to have two Elemental Skill styles in Genshin Impact.

If the Skill is tapped, she performs the aforementioned dash forward, while the Hold version of her Skill allegedly activates her Nightsoul’s Blessing state and switches to her Rapid Advance mode.

In this Rapid Advance mode, Varesa allegedly consumes Nightsoul points continuously, gaining increased movement speed and Interruption Resistance. Furthermore, she can leap over broken terrain and even move over water and Liquid Phlogiston without taking Liquid Phlogiston’s regular damage. According to the leak, this state ends once her Nightsoul points are depleted. Varesa is said to have two charges of Elemental Skill, and her Fiery ion state resets the cooldown of the Elemental Skill, increasing its damage. In addition to this, the leak revealed extra information about her rumored Fiery ion state in Genshin Impact.

As seen in the leak, Nightsoul points can be restored through Plunging Attacks when Varesa is not in the Fiery ion state. The leak also says that Nightsoul points can be gained by casting her Elemental Burst and, if this is enough to reach her maximum amount, it also forces her into the Fiery ion state. Entering Fiery ion is said to also trigger her Nightsoul’s Blessing state and, while in this state, after performing a Plunging Attack, Varesa can allegedly cast a special Elemental Burst within a short period in Genshin Impact.

Why There Aren't Many Genshin Impact Leaks Right Now

There has been a notable absence of leaks surrounding Genshin Impact lately and, while it feels strange, there may be an obvious explanation.

The leak says that Varesa’s Elemental Burst has her leap into the air and execute a flying kick, dealing Nightsoul-aligned AoE Electro DMG. This ability fully restores her Nightsoul points and, thus, activates her Fiery ion state. This part of the leak details her special Burst. Once she uses her Plunging Attack in the Fiery ion state, she enters the Limit Drive state, which further increases her Interruption Resistance and allows her to ignore her Burst’s cooldown with reduced Energy cost. Essentially, this should allow Varesa to use her Burst consecutively in Genshin Impact.

The Leaked Abilities Further Enhance Her Attacks

Aside from her active abilities, which seem to require a thoughtful rotation, the leaked ive Talents give even more depth to her kit. Her first leaked ive says that, after Varesa casts her Skill, she gains the Rainbow Plunge effect for five seconds. During this period, her Plunging Attack DMG is boosted by 25% – and if she is in her Fiery ion state, this DMG increase is 50%. The effect is removed once the duration ends or after she hits an opponent with a Plunging Attack in Genshin Impact.

The leak says that Varesa’s second leaked ive Talent will, when a nearby ally triggers Nightsoul Burst, increase her ATK by 30% for 12 seconds, stacking up to two times with independent durations. Her third leaked ive mentions that, after her Nightsoul points are depleted, Varesa consumes Phlogiston to keep her Nightsoul’s Blessing Rapid Advance state. Players can switch to her in areas with Phlogiston mechanics while sprinting or airborne. The last leaked ive boosts Varesa’s sprint speed but also increases her stamina consumption when she is not in combat in Genshin Impact.

Furthermore, this leaked fourth ive also restores 20 Phlogiston points every 10 seconds when using food items in areas with Phlogiston mechanics in Natlan.

Based on what has been presented in Varesa’s gameplay kit at C0 (Constellation level 0), it seems like she will be an on-field main DPS unit focused on Plunging Attack DMG. It seems like Varesa’s regular rotation will consist of using her Charged to propel her and allow her to execute her Plunging Attacks, which should fuel her Fiery ion state for increased damage output. Furthermore, the rumored ability to use her Burst twice in succession (the second, activated by her enhanced Plunging Attack), should permit a great deal of damage output.

Varesa may be a great main DPS to run alongside Xianyun in Genshin Impact, who buffs the Plunging Attack DMG and can facilitate her Plunging Attacks without having to use the Charged Attack propelling system.

If the leaks are correct, Varesa may be a fun character to use in combat, especially due to the scarcity of dedicated Plunging Attack DPS units. She seems to have an elaborate yet easy-to-master rotation that will keep her active without waiting for cooldowns and, depending on how strong her abilities truly are, Varesa could become a great hypercarry character in Genshin Impact.
