All the details about Yumemizuki Mizuki in Genshin Impact, who had already been confirmed by HoYoverse.

The update will also allow players to pull for a long-awaited rerun character who has never appeared in banners since their original debut. While new events in Inazuma should be in the spotlight during the new patch, the update will also take players all over Teyvat with some of its other events, including one that will help them catch up with some of their older allies, be they from Mondstadt, Liyue, or Inazuma, for example. There will even be a new and promising battle tower event in Genshin Impact 5.4, which should take players and team comps to their limits.

Genshin Impact 5.4 - Release Date

The Update Shouldn’t Be Delayed At This Point

Genshin Impact's Yae Miko, Raiden Shogun, and Yumemizuki Mizuki celebrate in Inazuma.

Players will not have to wait too long before engaging with the contents of Version 5.4. HoYoverse essentially confirmed that the game will stick to its regular six-week schedule for each update and, as such, Version 5.3 will not last longer than usual. According to information revealed by HoYoverse following the livestream, which was broadcast on the official Genshin Impact channel on YouTube, Version 5.4 will arrive on February 12 across platforms on which the game is currently available.

With the official announcement, it’s unlikely that the arrival of Version 5.4 will be postponed in any way. When HoYoverse delays a patch – which is quite rare – it tends to delay its respective livestream, too. With the Version 5.4 livestream’s presentation, it seems like all is ready for the patch’s release in mid-February. While the update evidently has a lot less content than the previous updates, the developer did not discuss how long it would last, indicating that Genshin Impact 5.4 should last the regular six weeks that most patches do.

Genshin Impact 5.4 - New Characters & Banners

Only One New Character, Yumemizuki Mizuki, Is Arriving In Version 5.4

As was previously confirmed by HoYoverse, only one new playable character will be introduced with Version 5.4. Yumemizuki Mizuki is a 5-star Anemo character who uses a catalyst in battle. Because of her weapon type, she can deal Anemo DMG to enemies with her Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attacks. Mizuki’s Elemental Skill puts her into the Dreamdrifter state, which allows her to levitate and move around at an increased speed. In her Dreamdrifter state, Yumemizuki Mizuki also deals periodic AoE Anemo DMG to nearby enemies and increases the Swirl DMG caused by her allies in Genshin Impact.

Although a Wriothesley rerun banner has long been anticipated in Genshin Impact, players should consider saving their Primogems for another character.

Mizuki’s Elemental Burst pulls in nearby enemies and summons a Mini Baku onto the field. This creature will periodically drop snacks across the field and they have different effects based on the active character’s HP. When a character with over a certain percentage of their Max HP picks up the snack, they will unleash a Munen Shockwave, which deals AoE Anemo DMG. If their HP is below a certain percentage, they will restore HP. If Yumemizuki Mizuki’s snack is left on the field, it will blow up after some time, dealing AoE Anemo DMG to enemies in Genshin Impact, too.

According to the leaks, which can be seen on standard banner loot pool in Genshin Impact after Version 5.5.

Anemo only interacts with Pyro, Electro, Hydro, and Cryo, which means the Swirl buff that Mizuki provides to allies will only apply to characters that use these elements in battle.

Aside from the detailed explanation about the character’s gameplay kit, the developer also announced how the banner structure will present itself in Version 5.4. According to HoYoverse, Yumemizuki Mizuki will debut in Phase 1 banners alongside a rerun for Sigewinne, while Phase 2 will host reruns for Furina and Wriothesley. Phase 1 should last from February 12 through March 4, while Phase 2 banners start on March 4 and go until March 25. The confirmed character banners in Genshin Impact 5.4 are important as they finally bring forth Wriothesley’s long-awaited rerun, a character who has been absent since his debut.

Genshin Impact 5.4 - Story Quests, Events & Other Updates

Players Will Return To Inazuma

Genshin Impact's Amber, Noelle, and Zhongli appear in different locations.

While the main campaign will be put on halt for a while, there are new story-related quests arriving in Version 5.4. The update will add Yumemizuki Mizuki’s Character Story Quest, a mission focused on the character where they will be able to learn about her profession – and they will gain access to Aisa Bathhouse in Inazuma. If players complete the quest during Version 5.4, they will obtain a portion of the required Ascension materials for Mizuki. HoYoverse also announced that starting in Version 5.4, Character Story Quests will no longer require keys to be unlocked in Genshin Impact.

The flagship event for Version 5.4 will be centered around Inazuma’s Mikawa Flower Festival. Through this event, players will be able to participate in a variety of activities, including A Little Fox’s Daydream, Bunshin Phantasm, and Akitsu Harpastum. All of these mini-games will grant players progression through the event, which will allow them to unlock Tamayuratei no Ohanashi, a new and limited free event weapon in Genshin Impact 5.4, as well as its unique Refinement materials. Tamayuratei no Ohanashi is a 4-star polearm with a unique design inspired by the chōchin'obake yokai.

A new event called Traveler’s Tales: Anthology Chapter will also be added, allowing players to revisit old characters and catch up with them. Players will have to find them in the open world. HoYoverse also confirmed a fishing event in Fontaine called, Invasive Fish Wrangler, a film-editing event with Xavier called Reel Ad-venture, and Realm of Tempered Valor, the long-rumored battle tower event in Genshin Impact 5.4. There will also be updates to Genius Invokation TCG and the return of the Ley Line Overflow event.

Genshin Impact Needs To Add This New Item ASAP

A new item being added Honkai: Star Rail 3.0 needs to be adapted and added into Genshin Impact as soon as possible to alleviate some of the grinding.

Players can also expect system optimizations that were already described by HoYoverse during the Developers Discussion, such as improvements to the Training Guide, a new weapon filter, a new feature in the Serenitea Pot, and more. While the update will clearly have less content than the patches before, players should still be occupied as they continue to explore Genshin Impact in preparation for the possible release of Nod-Krai in Version 6.0.
