Two new playable characters are coming to continued interest in Genshin Impact. Pulling for the new cast of playable characters is the main draw of each semi-monthly update, and what's kept players coming back for the past four years.

Update 5.2 in particular, expected to be released on November 20, introduces two new characters: the Anemo character Chasca, and the Electro Ororon. Here's everything to know about these two new additions to Genshin's roster.

Chasca is a member of the Flower-Feather Clan, one of the six Natlan tribes, which ties her in closely with that Genshin region. Chasca is believed to be a five-star character according to Genshin leaks, but may be revealed as a four-star character on release. She's known to be an Anemo character, which means she uses wind elemental spells in and out of battle. Anemo characters aren't the most versatile, as they have only a single Elemental Reaction (Swirl), even though it does work with a variety of other types (Pyro, Electro, Hydro, and Cryo, to be specific).

But Chasca has a special ability that makes her even better on a diverse team: when she uses Spirit Reins, Shadow Hunt, she can summon a revolver, which she can use to fly around and fire Shadowhunt Shells at enemies. These shells change their elements based on the other of the team: for every Cryo, Pyro, Hyrdo, or Electro character in her party, one of her shells will randomly be converted to one of the corresponding elements, dealing the relevant type of damage.

The longer Spirit Reins, Shadow Hunt is charged, the more bullets Chasca will load into her revolver. The maximum number is six.

Chasca wields a bow, which makes her primarily a long-range fighter, able to aim her shots carefully and land critical hits by striking enemy weaknesses. Her revolver ability s her long-range strengths. What many players have already declared her signature weapon, Astral Vulture's Crimson Plumage, helps her perform better when grouped with various elements: it grants her a 24% increase to attack whenever a Swirl reaction is triggered.

If there's a character in her party of a different elemental type, then her charged attacks will deal 24% more damage; if there are two, they'll deal 48% more. Chasca's signature weapon also increases her Elemental Burst damage when she's in a party with characters of other elements.

I'm Excited My Favorite Genshin Impact Character May Finally Get A Skin I'll Use

There are rumors of a new skin for one of my favorite Genshin Impact characters and I couldn’t be more excited about possibly changing their outfit.

Chasca's high DPS and wide-ranging versatility make her a highly desirable character, and one certainly worth pulling for. It's believed that Chasca's banner will begin during phase one of the 5.2 update. She'll likely be sharing that phase with beloved returning character Lyney, and quite possibly with her fellow new character Ororon.

Ororon, meanwhile, is an Electro character, meaning he uses lightning elemental spells. He's believed to be a four-star character to complement Chasca's five-star rating. It's likely that his banner will debut during phase one, alongside Chasca's and Lyney's. He's a member of the Masters of the Night-Wind, but believed to be a secret collaborator with the Fatui. He was first introduced as an NPC in update 5.0, but will become a playable character with the release of 5.2.

As an Electro character, Ororon can access a wide variety of different Reactions with multiple different elements - however, some are more useful than others. Much like Chasca, Ororon also wields a bow, although his skills are a little more limited. Ororon focuses almost entirely on Electro damage, with a series of AoE abilities. These include Night's Sling, which allows him to throw a bouncing ball of Electro energy at groups of enemies, and Dark Voices Echo, which creates a decoy that draws enemy aggro while continuously damaging them.

Ororon's signature weapon is the Song of Stillness, a bow that increases his damage after he heals. Much like Chasca, this and his Electro affinity make him an excellent team player, especially when paired with powerful healers or other characters he can activate Elemental Reactions with.

Will Chasca Or Ororon Be The Better New Character?

Chasca Vs. Ororon's Pros & Cons

Ultimately, it seems like Chasca will be the better new character in Genshin Impact 5.2. That's not only because of her apparently higher star rating, but also in no small part due to her far higher DPS. Chasca simply dishes out more damage, and her signature weapon can buff her output even further.

Perhaps more importantly, Chasca is an incredibly versatile character, who can deal multiple types of elemental damage in a single combo. With a well-constructed, diverse team on her side, Chasca can excel. Her ability to swap elements makes her a worthwhile ally in almost any fight, able to strike at a variety of different enemy weaknesses as needed. She can effectively be slotted into any party, as she'll take on her fellow characters' elements when she uses Shadowhunt Shells.

Genshin Impact 5.2 Leaks: New Imaginarium Theater Rewards Are Beyond Lackluster

New leaks about the rewards coming to the Imaginarium Theater in Genshin Impact 5.2 have emerged and they seem to be very disappointing.

What Ororon does have going for him is a more mysterious background and a closer connection to the lore. Players who are interested in how Genshin's story unfolds will likely find Ororon an excellent recruit. That doesn't mean he's not worth pulling for otherwise, though; when used correctly, he's plenty useful. As an Electro character, he can actually pair quite well with Chasca. Still, it's probably better to prioritize pulling for Chasca first; after that, though, players can turn their attentions to Ororon if they like.

That's all there is to know about Chasca and Ororon for now, although more details are likely to be revealed during the 5.2 livestream. The two new characters are expected to debut in Genshin Impact on November 20.
