Some more campaign information was also teased, even though the developer is keeping major revelations under wraps so as to not spoil the story. Genshin Impact Leaks May Have Just Shown When Natlan Updates Will End (& 6.0 Begins)
The next year of Natlan-related content in Genshin Impact may be much shorter than previous year, according to a new leak about future updates.
Genshin Impact 5.0 - Release Date
The New Update Will Arrive In Late August
After the end of the livestream, broadcast on the official Genshin Impact channel on Twitch, the developer confirmed that Version 5.0 will become available starting on August 28. Players in the United States may get access to the new content starting on August 27 because of the time zones. However, the newly revealed release date for the update confirms that there have been no delays in the planned content and that the game is sticking to its regular six-week schedule. With the release date already established, it is highly unlikely that Genshin Impact 5.0 will be delayed at the last minute.
Aside from not suffering a delay in years, when this happens, the livestream itself is delayed.
Genshin Impact 5.0 - New Characters & Banners
Three New Natlan Characters Will Be Released In The Update
In total, Version 5.0 will introduce three new Natlan playable characters: Mualani, Kinich, and Kachina. Mualani is a 5-star Hydro character who wields a catalyst in battle, allowing her Normal Attacks to deal elemental Hydro DMG. Her attack power scales off of her HP stat and she is considered a main DPS in team comps. Mualani is capable of summoning a shark-shaped mount in battle, which enhances her movement speed and alters her Normal Attacks. Furthermore, this new Natlan character in Genshin Impact 5.0 also fires missiles at targets she marks by crashing into them with her mount.
Kinich, on the other hand, is a 5-star Dendro DPS who uses a claymore. Kinich also has a mobility skill that allows him to use a grappling hook, in and outside of battle. When used outside, he can use it to reach new heights and dash forward. When utilized against an enemy, Kinich hooks onto them and spins around, firing at the target he is linked to. He can end the Skill with a bomb and connect to another enemy. With his Burst, Kinich summons the pixel-dragon creature Ajaw to deal AoE Dendro DMG to nearby enemies in Genshin Impact.
Kachina is a 4-star Geo unit that wields a polearm. She can summon a drill into battle with her Skill. If it is placed on the battlefield, it will deal periodic AoE Geo DMG. If Kachina chooses to use the drill as a mount, her Normal Attacks will be converted, dealing AoE Geo DMG, too. With her Burst, Kachina can summon the drill and create a field, which further increases her already boosted movement speed. Because the drill remains after she has left the field, Kachina can be used as a DPS or a sub-DPS in Genshin Impact.
When it comes to the banner order, Mualani will be the first new Natlan 5-star character to debut. Mualani will appear in Phase 1 banners, starting on August 28 and lasting until September 17. During the period, Mualani’s banner will run alongside a rerun of Kaedehara Kazuha. Additionally, both their signature 5-star weapons will be available for claims in the weapons banner. Kachina will debut in Phase 1 banners.
Players will be able to get a free copy of Kachina during Version 5.0.
In Phase 2 character banners in Genshin Impact, Kinich will make his debut as a 5-star limited character. During the period, Raiden Shogun will rerun alongside him. Phase 2 lasts from September 17 to October 8. Players will also be able to pull for their respective signature weapons from the weapons banner throughout the duration of Phase 2.
Genshin Impact 5.0 - Natlan, Story, Mechanics, & Events
The Update Will Be Filled With Activities To Fulfill
Version 5.0 will also introduce players to the region of Natlan. While the Nation of Pyro is due to have its map size expanded in future updates, the initial area is already quite large. The new region will have unique gameplay mechanics, such as the usage of Saurians as a means of traversal. Saurians are dragon-like creatures that are integrated into the societal structure within Natlan and there are tribes that revere different types of them, based on their elements. As such, players will meet a Dendro Saurian tribe and a Hydro Saurian tribe in Genshin Impact 5.0, for example.
There are also new combat mechanics present in Natlan, called Nightsoul’s Blessing. This Nightsoul’s Blessing is divided into three aspects, and they each play a different part in how certain Natlan characters work – some units can gain buffs from gathering Nightsoul points, while others may unlock special effects while they are in the Nightsoul’s Blessing state, for example. Nightsoul’s Blessing will also affect exploration, as swapping certain characters may trigger special movement effects. Players will also encounter a lava-like substance within hazardous terrain in Genshin Impact’s Natlan region.

New Genshin Impact Leak Reveals Natlan Map's Full Size
Natlan will debut with a fairly large map size in Genshin Impact 5.0, and leaks predict how much it will expand in Version 5.1 and 5.2.
The arrival of Version 5.0 will also bring forth new Archon Quests, meaning the main campaign following the Traveler in search of their lost sibling will continue. Upon reaching Natlan, players will notice a tournament is about to begin, hosted by Mavuika, believed to be the Pyro Archon. There are more things at stake, however, as Mavuika seems to be concealing the true Pyro Archon or the Pyro Sovereign, and the Fatui Harbinger known as Capitano in Genshin Impact has also invested interest in the Nation of War.
The exact outcome of this story will be drawn out throughout the next few patches and should not reach a definitive conclusion in the missions added with Version 5.0 – however, players can expect revelations.
In addition to the main story content, several side quests should be added with the new Nation. Furthermore, there will also be limited-time events for players to partake in during the update’s duration, including a celebration of the game’s fourth anniversary with several rewards for players, including Wishes to use in the character and weapons banners.
For the anniversary, players will be able to obtain 10 Intertwined Wishes, 1,600 Primogems, and several other rewards, including a pet. By completing Archon Quests in Genshin Impact 5.0, they will also get 500 Primogems. Additionally, if they complete the new character-related quests for Mualani and Kinich, players also unlock the Ascension materials for Phases 2 and 3, allowing players to raise them to level 60 with much less grinding.
The livestream also confirmed that World Level 9 is being implemented, as well as increased drop rates from specific enemies, like Kairagi and Specters. A new Artifact salvaging system will now transform discarded Artifacts into Artifact EXP Materials. Furthermore, a rare item called Sanctifying Elixir will allow players to craft Artifacts, selecting the piece’s main stat and two sub-stats. There will also be some changes to the Battle and a shared stamina increase system across all Statues of the Seven.
There will also be changes to the banner system. On limited character banners, when faced with a 50/50 5-star pull, players have a chance of activating Capturing Radiance, a mechanic that increases the odds of them obtaining the featured 5-star Genshin Impact character instead of one from the standard banner. Additionally, the weapons banner will have its Fate Points reduced from two to one. Lastly, starting with Version 5.0, every year, players will be able to choose one free 5-star character from the standard banner.

Genshin Impact Natlan Leaks: What The Pyro Archon's True Name Could Really Mean
The true name of the Pyro Archon in Genshin Impact has allegedly been leaked, and it could hint at some of the story details in Natlan.
The Version 5.0 update will be full of activities for players to participate in and with the arrival of a new Nation, new main and side quests, limited-time events, and more, players will likely have their hands full for the duration of the patch’s six-week duration. After that, Natlan will continue to expand, both in size and in its content with the release of Genshin Impact 5.1.
