The Resident Evil 4 Remake has proven to be an incredible game that improved on the original in nearly every way, and there are plenty of other great games just like it. However, as more players beat the RE4 remake and the surrounding excitement levels out, many may be left wanting another game that’s in the same vein. Thankfully, there are quite a few games beyond the Resident Evil franchise that scratch the same itch.

Of course, Resident Evil 4 Remake offers a great deal of replayability with a new game plus mode and extra weapons and costumes to earn. The new Mercenaries Mode free DLC also provides more intense RE4 gameplay for players to sink their teeth into. Other titles in the Resident Evil franchise are a good starting point for gamers looking for something similar, but only a few actually play like RE4 Remake. Fortunately, there are a ton of other titles that fans of the remake will love.

10 Resident Evil 5

Resident Evil 5 was the first major installment in the franchise after Resident Evil 4, and it continues its predecessor’s legacy in some notable ways. It utilizes the same third-person gameplay pioneered by the original RE4 and introduced optional two-player co-op; a first for the Resident Evil series. Playing through Resident Evil 5 with a friend is a fun experience that later entries in the series haven’t quite recaptured. While it certainly leans more into the action elements than survival horror, fans of the RE4 Remake will undoubtedly find the connective tissue that binds it to Resident Evil 5 and have a great time doing so.

9 Dead Space Remake

The Dead Space Remake delivers on every success of the original and more. Not to mention, it's in tough competition with the Resident Evil 4 Remake for being the best survival horror game of 2023 so far. The original Dead Space became iconic for its detailed worldbuilding, terrifying sound design and music, and stressful shooter gameplay. The remake captures all of this, bringing the game into the new console generation with stunning graphics. The Dead Space Remake is survival horror at its finest, and RE4 fans should absolutely give it a shot.

It features a mix of gameplay, consisting of traditional third-person gunplay and heavy melee combat, for which the developers looked to games like God of War for inspiration.
