It took no time at all for From to score a season 3 renewal, and online buzz alone was enough to catapult the show forward at MGM+. Though the original programs on the streamer tend to keep a tight schedule, the dual Hollywood strikes of 2023 put a damper on the show's production. Fortunately, MGM+ has now set a release date, and From season 3 is due to arrive on Sunday, September 22.

The WGA strike was resolved on September 27th, 2023, and the SAG-AFTRA strike was resolved on November 9, 2024.

From Season 3 Cast

Expect The Main Cast To Return With Some New Additions

Much of the cast of From returned for season 2, and that trend will probably continue with the From season 3 cast too. Harold Perrineau will return as Boyd Stevens, the town's de facto sheriff and mayor, and Catalina Sandino Moreno as Tabitha Matthews and Eion Bailey as Jim Matthews will also come back as well. The ending of season 2 left the door open for many surviving characters to return, and with many mysteries still unsolved, a mass return is what's needed for the show's next season.

Along with a slew of returning faces, From season 3 has added new cast as well. Announced at 2024's San Diego Comic-Con, CSI: New York's Robert Joy is set to play Henry, an unlikable curmudgeon. Meanwhile, Y: The Last Man alum Samantha Brown is set to appear as Acosta, a cop who is in way over her head.

There are a few larger pieces of the puzzle that the show could likely address as it begins its third year on the air, not the least of which is the real meaning of From's cicadas. The From season 2 finale had the biggest climax that the show has seen thus far, as Tabitha is pushed out of the glass window by The Boy in White and then wakes up after a coma, hinting that she might have died. All signs seem to suggest that From season 3 will only be more intense and not let up after season 2's shocking conclusion.

Months before the show's fall 2024 release window, MGM+ released a teaser trailer to hype up the next batch of episodes. Coming at the halfway point to Halloween, the teaser opens with a body being carried across town in a wheelbarrow, though the identity isn't disclosed. Then, Boyd is tied up and forced to watch someone being tortured, all because he had the gall to claim that the Township couldn't break his spirit. From season 3 is looking to be just as emotional as it is scary.

At 2024's San Diego Comic-Con event, the full trailer for From season 3 was revealed alongside its September 22nd release date. The lengthy trailer opens with winter descending on the town, and shows some of the hardships that the change of seasons brings for the surviving residents. Meanwhile, the monsters are back to torment, and another mystery is set up when Jim's telephone is seen ringing. Finally, Tabitha stumbles on an even greater mystery that exists beyond the borders of the town.
