Friends fans have always enjoyed watching their favorite characters' journeys through the years. Ross is certainly no exception, as he was always landing himself in sticky situations. It is fair to say that Ross has some of the most memorable moments and episodes in the entire show.
Ross was notorious for taking an already awkward scenario and making it over-the-top cringeworthy. From bad dates to saying the wrong name at his own wedding, he certainly kept fans laughing — even if his scenes were so embarrassing they were hard to watch.
The Leather Pants Incident
The episode "The One With All the Resolutions" may be the one time Ross literally found himself in a sticky situation. This hilarious episode sees Ross purchasing his first pair of leather pants. He quickly finds himself in an embarrassing position on a date when he realizes it is way too hot for leather pants. When he gets some privacy, Ross pulls the leather pants down to cool off only to discover it is nearly impossible to get them back up. Hilarity ensues as he tries every possible option, including calling his good friend Joey for help. Once covered in lotion and talc with no way back, Ross finally its defeat to his date and himself.
The Bad Spray Tan
In “The One With Ross’s Tan,” Ross sees how fabulous Monica’s new spray tan is, he is determined to get one for himself. Once at the tanning salon, Ross is given instructions to follow to achieve his perfect level of tan.
As always, things do not go as planned for Ross and he fails to follow instructions, not once but three times throughout the episode. This has hilarious results as Ross is forced to venture into public with half of an incredibly dark spray tan.
Shockingly White Teeth
Ross always seems to have the worst luck, particularly with dating. “The One With Ross’s Teeth,” sees him decide to put in extra effort for his date, and of course, his plan goes awry.
Ross accidentally leaves his teeth whitener on for too long before going on a date. His friends are amused when they see the results of his teeth whitening and how shockingly bright they actually are. Feeling self-conscious after realizing his mistake, Ross makes every attempt to hide his teeth during date night. Of course, this doesn’t last long when he is given away by the black light in his apartment, showing his hilarious, glowing teeth to his date.
Faking A British Accent
Ross has done many wild, shocking things in Friends, and this is no exception. In "The One Where Joey Loses His Insurance," he attempts to make a good first impression on his new class, so he adopts a British accent to appear more unique. Alas, he quickly finds himself in a predicament. Once he is caught out using the faux voice by an amused Monica and Rachel, Ross realizes that he will have to begin trying to phase this out.
PIVOT!
This particular scene is certainly down as one of the most iconic and hilarious moments in the show's history.
During "The One With The Girl That Hits Joey," Ross is moving into his new apartment and recruits Chandler and Rachel to help. Ross ultimately decides he doesn't want to pay a delivery fee on his new couch and asks for his friends help to carry it up the stairs. With some terrible directions from Ross, who repeatedly yells "Pivot!" at both Rachel and Chandler, the situation escalates quickly. The couch becomes stuck on the staircase in Ross's apartment building and leaves him yet again in another sticky situation.
Confronted By Rachel's Dad
After Rachel learns she is pregnant following a hook-up with Ross, he finds himself in hot water with her father.
In "The One With The Stripper," Dr. Green pays a surprise visit to Ross following the news of Rachel's pregnancy. Not amused that his daughter and Ross are not getting married with a baby on the way, Dr. Green angrily confronts Ross. Ross suddenly finds himself caught between his confused girlfriend and her extremely frustrated father.
Fake Memorial
A prank war between Chandler and Ross goes too far in "The One With the Memorial Service." After the prank escalates between the friends, Chandler is particularly responsible for this wild situation that Ross finds himself in.
After Chandler jokingly tells their former college friends that Ross has died, Ross is disappointed with the lack of emotion and response. He decides to throw himself a memorial service in a bid to see who cares enough to actually show up and pay their respects. Things don't go according to plan and Ross blows his cover when a former classmate shows up to the service and declares her secret former crush on him.
Saying The Wrong Name At His Wedding
Ross is famous for being the one friend who is always getting married or divorced throughout the show. Ross's wedding to Emily on Friends should have been a second-time lucky event but things go horribly wrong in the final stretch.
This moment in the two-parter episode "The One With Ross's Wedding" is certainly one of Ross's biggest mishaps but fans secretly loved this wild turn of events. The sharing of vows is quite possibly the biggest moment of any wedding, and Ross slips up big time by accidentally saying Rachel's name instead of Emily's. Unsurprisingly, Ross's mistake kickstarts a whirlwind of problems for him in the episodes following.
Getting Married In Vegas
Ross and Rachel have had their fair share of sticky moments as a duo, but this situation was particularly wild and unexpected.
During a trip to Vegas with their friends, Ross and Rachel get into a prank war on the flight and this ends with Ross drawing on Rachel's face. Once in Vegas, Rachel discovers she cannot remove the ink and decides to stay in her hotel room, along with a guilty Ross. The prank war is soon forgotten as the duo takes advantage of the minibar and gets extremely drunk. Their drunken state leads them across Vegas casinos and through the little white chapel wedding doors... Monica and Chandler witness the moment and it starts a chain of messy events for both Ross and Rachel when they sober up.
We Were On A Break
It is fair to say that this particular situation goes down in Friends' history as Ross's biggest error in judgment.
The episode "The One With the Morning After," sees Ross find comfort in the arms of the photocopy girl, Chloe, after Ross and Rachel have a huge fight. He immediately realizes what he has done wrong the morning after and guilt eats away at him when Rachel turns up at his apartment to make up. It kicks off a dramatic string of events that changes Ross and Rachel's entire relationship and ultimately Rachel discovers Ross's indiscretion, leading to their big break-up. This particular sticky situation is ittedly Ross's worst moment on the show, even though he did legitimately believe they were on a break.
