Several actors are currently rumored to be playing leading characters in Amazon Prime's Yarros' latest Fourth Wing series comments, have even completed first drafts of the script. But so far, Amazon has been quiet on the casting front.
However, this hasn't stopped fans from speculating on and stirring up rumors about potential candidates for the Fourth Wing cast — largely for Violet and Xaden. A handful of actors have ignited such rumors, mainly due to some subtle clues found on social media platforms — with some adding dragon emojis to their bios, being caught reading Onyx Storm, or even following Rebecca Yarros on Instagram. While this could all be coincidental, I'm inclined to agree with fans that the hints are a bit too on the nose to be inauthentic.
3 Josh Heuston
Xaden Riorson
Josh Heuston is an Australian model and actor, best known for his work on the TV series Heartbreak High and Dune: Prophecy, for which he received a lot of attention and high praise. Seeing as he's already been labeled a heartthrob after his role in Dune: Prophecy, it comes as no surprise that fans have begun to recommend him for the role of Xaden Riorson in Amazon's Fourth Wing. Not only has he become a popular choice among fancasts, but his recent activity on social media may hint that he's in talks for the leading role.
However, rumors began to grow further after fans caught him reading Rebecca Yarros' Onyx Storm out in public.
Heuston sparked Fourth Wing casting rumors earlier this year when he added a dragon emoji to his Instagram profile, which may have been a subtle nod to the series. However, rumors began to grow further after onlookers caught him reading Rebecca Yarros' Onyx Storm out in public (via elle.com). Since then, fans have paid close attention to the actor's social media and have caught a number of Fourth Wing-related clues, including a now-deleted Instagram story of him sparring with a trainer and the word "Violence" sneakily added to the corner — Xaden's nickname for Violet in the books.
After further investigation, it was also made known that Heuston followed both Rebecca Yarros and Michael B. Jordan — the TV series' producer — on Instagram. With all of this hinting at his involvement in the series, I would be surprised if Amazon didn't cast him as Xaden in the Fourth Wing adaptation, although some believe he could be a candidate for Bodhi as well.
2 Emilio Sakraya
Xaden Riorson
Emilio Sakraya is another popular fancast for the role of Xaden. The German actor, known for his role in Netflix's Warrior Nun, was first considered for the role of Xaden after he posted a dragon emoji in the caption of an Instagram carousel — one in which he is clearly training. This could be an indicator that the actor is prepping for the show, or is in talks to play the role of Xaden. Sakraya has become a top choice among fans, when he, like Heuston, fits the description of Xaden's character in Fourth Wing extremely well.
Sakraya is also known to have serious combat training, including martial arts and kickboxing. This only further recommends him for the role of Xaden, who is largely considered to be the best fighter in Basgiath. He has also followed Yarros on Instagram and has been rather downplayed when interacting with fans online regarding his potential casting as Xaden — as seen in a TikTok video. I can totally envision him in the role of Xaden, yet both actors' subtle hints suggest at least some involvement in the Fourth Wing show.
1 Mackenzie Foy
Violet Sorrengail
Mackenzie Foy has long been considered a top candidate for the role of Violet Sorrengail in Amazon's Fourth Wing series, but fans weren't completely convinced about casting until the actress shared a photo of Onyx Storm on her Instagram stories earlier this year. She is also known to follow Yarros and has been seen in several recent videos to be training physically — another reason to suspect her casting. Foy also perfectly matches the description of Violet in the novels, having pale skin, light eyes, and brown hair, in addition to being only 5'3" tall.
Apart from her social media activity related to the series, Foy has remained relatively quiet regarding her rumored casting as Violet — unlike her potential co-stars who have encouraged fan speculation. However, this doesn't necessarily mean the rumors are false, as being cast in the main role would require quite a bit of confidentiality. Given her impressive acting experience, including that of young Murph in Interstellar, I'm hopeful she will be cast as Violet in the Fourth Wing TV show, as her acting abilities more than recommend her for the role.
