Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 is here, and there's a ton of new content for you to find. This season brings a fun heist theme to the battle royale, which obviously comes with vaults to open. One of the vaults is secretly hidden in Shiny Shafts and can be a real pain to open.

This isn't just any regular vault that you can find on the map; it's a secret stash that only a few know how to access. Just , the journey to easy weapons in Fortnite can be dangerous, as this is a popular spot for players to drop in, thanks to its connection with the Cowboy Bepop anime.

It's Hard To Find And Hard To Unlock

The secret vault at Shiny Shafts in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 is a hidden treasure spot located in a newly added area called Shiny Shafts. This place is a multi-level mining site filled with loot and potential combat, found on the west side of the map. You can’t start this inside the shaft itself; instead, start from the outside and follow the rails that lead south. You’ll see the way to start this puzzle near a pipe wheel.

Unlike regular vaults that are usually marked and can be accessed easily, this secret vault is unmarked and requires a different approach to unlock it, making it more challenging to find. You should also know the way inside before you start because this is a timed unlock. It is also very unforgiving, and if you mess up at all, you should turn around and start again. The timer is incredibly fast, and it's fast for everyone (even those with Fortnite Crew subscriptions).

The smartest thing to do is to go through the mine itself before you start. Make sure to find every door and all three pipes before beginning. It seems silly and unnecessary, but I messed up the first two times I tried this because I wasn’t very sure of where to go, and because I was way too slow to get there. So keep in mind that even if you know where to look, you need to really sprint through the area. This is a lot harder than the rewards in the Star Wars collab with Fortnite, but at least the reward is still cool.

How To Open & Enter The Secret Vault In Shiny Shafts

Shiny Shafts Vault Puzzle Solution

To open the secret vault at Shiny Shafts in Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 2, go to the southern end of the mine and follow the grind rails to the first pressure valve. Turn around as quickly as you can and jump on the nearby grind rail. Make sure you interact with it before or right when you land to begin a grind. Also, make sure you’re facing the right way, or you’ll run out of time correcting the turn.

If you end up messing the jumps, you might as well try from the beginning. The time you get to open all three pipes is so fast that one screw-up, in the beginning, could cost you the puzzle solution. Also, be sure to ignore any enemies because they will waste your time and will be missed if you head directly to each step.

The grind rails are the easiest way to run out of time because of the mine carts. To jump over them, try to jump a second before you think you need to. It worked for me when I tried it.

After clearing all three minecarts, turn the valve at the end of the grind rail. Then, turn and jump over the ledge to the floor. You’re going to take some damage from this, but it’s worth it to save time. Sprint straight toward the nearby staircase and to the pipe wheel. If you happen to fall through one of the holes, save yourself by attempting to jump back up because the ledges are climbable.

Once you’re at the third pressure valve, turn it to open the door directly on your left. If you do this right, the vault doors will open slowly. If you are too late, they’ll open slightly and then close. Nothing will open them besides doing the puzzle correctly, and you can try this Fortnite puzzle again from the beginning with no problem. Inside, you'll find a stash of valuable loot, including Rare Chests, Gold Bars, and powerful weapons.
