With a new Marvel theme, Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4 promises to be the most exciting Fortnite season in some time. New Marvel-themed locations are among the best landing spots in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4. However, it's worth noting that the Fortnite island map hasn't actually changed that much. As such, players can choose between old favorites and new, more exciting landing spots this season.

As this is the start of a new season rather than a new chapter, many of Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3's best landing spots are still great landing spots this season. However, depending on personal preference, players may want to pivot and try new landing spots. Players can follow the action by facing new bosses in challenging new arenas or try a quieter approach by landing off the beaten path.

7 Nitrodrome

One Of The Best Landing Spots In Chapter 5 Season 3

Location

Center of the island, south of Restored Reels

NPCs or Bosses Present

None

The Nitrodrome was the best landing spot in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3, combining a significant amount of ground loot with a fight against Ringmaster Scarr, one of Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3's NPCs. Players could defeat the Ringmaster to claim her unique weapons and Medallion and take advantage of the Nitrodrome's workshops to install vehicle mods.

In Fortnite, Chapter 5, Season 4, the car combat shows and the fireworks displays have disappeared, and Ringmaster Scarr is no longer present. As such, players looking for the unique advantages gained from defeating a boss early in the match don't have a reason to come here.

However, with fewer players, the Nitrodrome is now an ideal landing spot for players who prefer slightly quieter starting positions. The Nitrodrome is still packed with ground loot and even has special chests that often contain powerful seasonal items. This includes War Machine's Arsenal: a weapons platform item that combines a machine gun with a rocket launcher that has rapidly found a place in the metagame.

Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4's unique seasonal items appear extremely powerful. Players should keep an eye out for the Arsenal, as well as War Machine's Auto-Turret, War Machine's Hover Jets, and Captain America's Shield: an old favorite now upgraded with a shield charge ability.

The Nitrodrome also has vehicles for traveling across the island and even cash s packed with Gold Bars, which are essential for NPC trades. It's an interesting example of a landing spot changing between seasons.

6 Doom's Courtyard

A Small-Scale Starting Location Near Two Major Points Of Interest

Female Character Facing Giant Stone Doctor Doom Head Statue In Doom's Courtyard In Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4

Location

North of the island between Doomstadt and Castle Doom

NPCs or Bosses Present

None

The northern part of the Fortnite island features two big new Points of Interest: Doomstadt and Castle Doom. Choosing to start at Doomstadt or Castle Doom is a perfectly valid approach, but it can be challenging as both locations host NPC Boss fights and are extremely popular.

Doom's Courtyard is a slightly smaller Point of Interest conveniently located between the two, providing a small-scale start for players who don't want to jump into the action the moment they land. It doesn't feature much ground loot, but a special chest can be found underneath the giant statue of Doctor Doom, providing an opportunity to grab Captain America's Shield or other seasonal items. There should be more than enough for a solo player or a duos team to gear up.

Once ready, players can head west to Doomstadt to confront Mysterio or east to Castle Doom to challenge Doombot. The advantage to starting at Doom's Courtyard is breathing space: players don't need to scramble for weapons or, engage in close-quarters pickaxe fights, or deal with a boss' trigger-happy henchmen before they're ready.

5 The Train

Travel Around The Island And Take Advantage Of A Special Loot Chest

Female Character Riding Train Stained With Multicoloured Graffiti In Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4

Location

Moves around the Fortnite island on tracks.

NPCs or Bosses Present

None

First appearing at the start of Chapter 5, The Train was one of the best landing spots in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 and 2 before it was wrecked last season. In Fortnite Chapter 5, Season 4, the Train is now up and running and circling the entire island.

The Train is constantly on the move and only slows down near stations, so players must carefully judge when to leap from the Battle Bus to catch it. However, this can also be an advantage: players tend to prefer stationary landing zones, so anyone who chooses to land on the Train may find it entirely uncontested. The Train also provides a unique opportunity for players to pull off a daring heist.

The Train appears on the in-game map as a moving diamond icon and can be visible from the air at a certain distance.

A few loot chests can be found and opened along the length of the train. Near the front, players will also find a special chest that can be hacked, starting a countdown that is visible to any players nearby. Once the countdown finishes, the chest opens and showers the nearby area with weapons and utility items. Best of all, as the Train es through stations, the special loot chest resets so that it can be opened more than once.

The Train follows a preset route that takes it through many major Points of Interest, making it convenient for exploring the island and allowing squads to hop on and off whenever they like. However, it can drag players outside the safe zone as the match progresses, so players need to be very aware of their surroundings.

4 Rebel's Roost And The Island

Explore The Depths Of The Forest

Female Character Exploring Dark Forest In Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4.

Location

North, northwest part of the Fortnite island

NPCs or Bosses Present

Centurion

The northwestern part of the Fortnite island features some curious places that most players won't know about unless they stumble across them. The main location here is Rebel's Roost, an isolated mansion in the middle of the forest with sufficient ground loot to outfit a small squad. Players can also use the Reboot Van here in relative safety, as the area tends to be quite isolated.

The forest also has a few small locations that don't quite qualify as landmarks, including small docks with vending machines that serve as an alternative to trading with NPCs, isolated lodges, abandoned campsites, and more. As such, it's an interesting landing spot and a great area to simply explore.

Players can also choose to land at the island just off the northern coastline, which features Centurion, a recruitable NPC Character who can be hired for 200 Gold Bars. From there, zip lines lead further inland towards Doomstadt, Doom's Courtyard, and Castle Doom.

3 Castle Doom

Challenge Doombot To A Boss Battle

Female Character Standing In Front Of Anvil At Lava Forge In Castle Doom In Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4.

Location

The northeastern part of the Fortnite land, north of Grand Glacier

NPCs or Bosses Present

Doombot

The first and arguably least welcoming of Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4's boss lairs, Castle Doom, is particularly ominous when viewed from a distance. Players who land here will find themselves instantly under pressure, both from other players who want to fight the boss Doombot and from Doombot's henchmen.

Loot can be quite scarce at Castle Doom, depending on how many players battle Doombot. Doombot drops Doctor Doom's Monarch Pistol and Doctor Doom's Arcane Gauntlets, which fires deadly energy blasts that can almost knock out a player in a single hit. These highly coveted items mean players won't be able to loot or explore Castle Doom without a fight.

Doctor Doom himself does not appear at Castle Doom. Instead, he will make an appearance as the Doctor Doom skin in the Fortnite Battle , unlockable via special quests starting on September 5th.

However, for skilled players who enjoy a challenge, Castle Doom is a great landing spot. It provides a fantastic trial-by-fire experience, new and unconventional weapons and items, and pits players against a powerful boss enemy and other players intent on hunting for high-quality boss gear.

Players can actually down the henchmen in this area and then interact with them to offer them a second chance. This makes them the player's squad as a temporary squate for much-needed fire .

2 Doomstadt

Battle Mysterio In The Streets Of A Sinister Village

Location

The northern part of the Fortnite island.

NPCs or Bosses Present

Mysterio

On the surface, Doomstadt is a picturesque village that's both peaceful and prosperous and has a unique charm. However, as players explore, they'll find the town square features a statue of Doctor Doom and the supervillain Mysterio patrolling the area. Freed from The Raft, Mysterio is up to no good, and players can bring him down.

On balance, the Mysterio boss fight is easier for players to tackle. Doomstadt has plenty of loot and is slightly more open compared to Castle Doom, so the fight against Mysterio is arguably less challenging. The master of illusions has a few tricks up his sleeve, including disappearing and teleporting close to the player at the start of the fight and attempting to confuse them with illusory copies of himself.

However, regardless of skill level and playstyle, Mysterio's boss loot is extremely useful. Mysterio's Stealth Medallion grants a special ive effect where the holder turns invisible when crouched, opening up an entirely new dimension of gameplay to one lucky player and one player only.

The holder can set up ambushes, turn the tables on their opponents by disappearing, and heal or restore their shields in safety.

As such, Doomstadt is an excellent example of the mechanics and gameplay balance that make Fortnite one of the best battle royale games: a unique item only one player can wield, obtained from a boss fight in a location that provides everything players might need to prepare.

1 The Raft

The Ultimate Test Of A Player's Fortnite Skills In Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4

Location

The western part of the Fortnite island along the river.

NPCs or Bosses Present

Emma Frost

The Raft is a challenge to all Fortnite players: a major Point of Interest with dizzying verticality, packed with loot and a major boss fight against Emma Frost. The player or squad that emerges victorious from The Raft is likely in one of the best possible positions to win the match, emerging with a score of eliminations under their belts and an arsenal that includes Mythic-quality Boss gear.

Surviving at The Raft requires balancing caution with aggressive play. The presence of many players triggers hectic firefights where multiple squads battle in packed corridors and rooftops while boss henchmen close in, drawn in by stray gunshots and alarms. Players will need to land exactly right, grabbing any unvaulted weapons they can before tackling their opponents, henchmen, and finally, Emma Frost herself.

Emma Frost drops a Mythic quality Striker Burst Rifle and the Reveal Medallion, occasionally revealing nearby enemies' locations.

Picking The Raft as a landing spot is risky, and players who want a slower start have other options to choose from. However, for the daring, The Raft offers the full Fortnite experience: tough firefights where weapons, items, skills, and map knowledge all play a role. As such, it's one of the best landing spots in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 4.
