With the horror sequel set to debut in late 2025, the latest news arrives in the form of a trailer for Five Nights at Freddy's 2. The teaser was revealed by Universal Pictures during their at the annual event, and unlike nearly everything else revealed at CinemaCon, they immediately released the trailer to the public. The creepy teaser opens with a voice-over announcing that the show is about to start before cutting to Mike as he reads a note from Abby saying she's going to fix her animatronic friends.

What comes next is several scenes of mayhem as the mechanical monsters begin to stalk again. One short clip shows an as-yet-unnamed character (played by Wayne Knight) getting attacked by an animatronic and being pulled through a glass door. The teaser then ends with a voice (that sounds a lot like Matthew Lillard's William Afton) saying "showtime!"

According to recent reports, the horror sequel will premiere on December 5, 2025, and it will have a different release strategy than its predecessor. Freddy & Company Are Expected To Return

The cast of Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 has yet to be fully confirmed, but some key returns are already known. Likewise, Matthew Lillard’s William Afton died in the first film, but the actor is confirmed to be in the sequel somehow, though the details aren't known. Several new cast will appear in Five Nights at Freddy's 2, but their characters aren't known yet.
