After all, Fire Force has kept fans on edge for years; You can hardly blame the fandom for being nervous about the anime's return, right? Back in 2020, Fire Force made its season two outing as the show returned in July. The show was an immediate success as Fire Force fans had waited a year for season two to go live. However, that timeline did not carry over to season three.

Following the end of Fire Force season two, the anime went underground for years. The anime's third season will not go live until April 2025, leaving a nearly five-year gap between season two. David Production has kept quiet about the production, so we have no idea why the show took so long to return. Netizens do have their own theories about the delay, and they involved David Production's workload.

In 2022, the studio began working on Urusei Yatsura, a revival of Rumiko Takahashi's hit manga. A year later, David Production began work on Undead Unluck, leaving the studio busier than ever. So if the company wanted to do Fire Force justice, its production schedule needed to navigate David Production's loaded plate.

Fire Force Season 3 Will Be The Anime's Last

As you can imagine, Fire Force fans are eager to see the anime return, and they will want to savor the situation. The series will be coming to a close with its third season, after all. The show's production committee confirmed Fire Force season three will wrap the shōnen hit with two cours. The first half of season three will launch in April 2025 while the latter half goes live in January 2026. So far, no word has been given on season three's streaming release, but Crunchyroll has overseen the distribution of Fire Force so far.

We may have some time left before Fire Force returns to television, but fans don't have to wait for Shinra Kusakabe. Ohkubo, the creator of Fire Force, finished the manga back in February 2022.
