Monster Hunter Rise: How and Where to Hunt Nargacugas

Monster Hunter Rise Switch Skills

In order to hunt the Nargacuga players will first need to find the creature. The best places to hunt for the creature are the Flooded Forest and Shrine Ruins. The upside to hunting this creature is that it doesn't deal any elemental effects, so the player doesn't have to worry about wearing any specific armor types. Instead, they can just bring their favorite or strongest suit of armor. When it comes to weapon and equipment players will need to be a little more particular though. The monster is actually very weak to lightning damage, so the player will want to bring a lightning-based weapon if at all possible. They will also want to have some Sonic Bombs and Pitfall Traps on their person as well.

Once players are all geared up and have tracked down a Nargacuga, they will now be ready to fight the creature. The first thing to keep in mind is that the monster is very fast, so the player will want to always be moving and dodging to stay out of the way of its attacks. When attacking players will want to rush in for a quick combo before running out of the way to avoid its next attack. There are three main attacks to look out for:

Lunge - The creature will launch itself directly at the player, which must be dodged to avoid taking damage.

Bite - If very close to the Nargacuga's head it will try to bite the player. Only attack the head in short bursts to avoid this.

Tail Spikes -  The player will want to avoid its tail when it lifts up in the air because that means it will throw its spikes in the player's direction.

The best way to bring this monster is to focus attacks on its tail and head to deal as much damage as possible. A great strategy is to wait for it to attempt a leap attack and toss out a Sonic Bomb. This will interrupt the attack and stun the Nargacuga momentarily to allow a few heavy combos. Pitfalls Traps are also perfect for stopping the monster in its tracks when enraged.
