The compilation Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis will be coming to mobile devices in 2022, and the game will release chapter-by-chapter episodes of each of the Final Fantasy 7 spin-off games, as well as the original Final Fantasy 7 game. Until this announcement, many of the past FF7 spin-off games weren't accesible to modern gamers due to limited access and obsolete gaming systems. Because FF7: Ever Crisis will be available on mobile devices, many may be wondering how the original story and gameplay will be remastered, and what parts of Crisis Core will be included.

Final Fantasy 7: released for the PlayStation Portable in 2007. The gameplay included a modified combat system intended to pull away from turn-based encounters. Players could interact with an enemy in the overworld and then be pulled into an encounter zone where the battle against the enemies takes place. There was a limit-break mechanic called the Digital Mind Wave, or DMW, which, when activated in battle, would spin and allow Zack to perform a special move inspired by other characters he had met on his journey. However, it is unlikely either of these combat mechanics will be included in Ever Crisis.

While nothing has been confirmed yet for Crisis Core content in Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis, it is probable the combat system will be a modified turn-based system inspired by the original Final Fantasy 7, and it will most likely stay the same through each game's remake, to keep gameplay throughout the episodes consistent. It is possible other mechanics present in Crisis Core, like Materia Synthesis, or side quests to build relationships with important characters like Cloud, Tseng, and Angeal, could be included.

Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII

While certain gameplay mechanics may not make the cut for FF7: Ever Crisis, it is likely the bulk of Zack's story will be included, and possibly updated to include content added in later spin-off games. Crisis Core followed Zack Fair as he worked his way through the SOLDIER program within Shinra, and then watches the collapse of the company from the inside as the secrets regarding Angeal, Genesis, and Sephiroth come boiling to the surface. Zack's story is a tragic journey, as players of Final Fantasy 7 know his fate and his importance to Cloud Strife's history in the original FF7 storyline.

Currently, there is little information on what players might be able to expect from Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis. While it was announced which Final Fantasy 7 titles will be included in Ever Crisis, the trailer for the game's announcement showed only snippets of basic gameplay. These mechanics could potentially change as the release date gets closer, leaving much of the game's content a mystery. Fans who have wanted to replay these older spin-off games like Crisis Core will hopefully get a remake worthy of the wait as they follow the updates for Final Fantasy 7: Ever Crisis, and prepare to explore the classic story anew from the comfort of their mobile device.
