FUT Heroes are one of the ongoing promotions in includes the Rulebreakers promotion. Heroes cards have been available since the end of September shortly after the launch of FIFA 23 having been first brought into the series for FIFA 22. The cards are made up of former legends of the game who don't have Icon cards.

Along with being able to find Heroes in packs, the cards are also available to pick up by completing selected Squad Building Challenges, as well as by completing objectives in-game. An easy-to-complete SBC has given players the chance to pick up a Hero with a rating of 85-87 and more of these are sure to come later this year. All Heroes now have two cards, their base cards which are available currently and a boosted World Cup card which will be picked up in packs from the 11th of November. With the new Chemistry system in FIFA 23 Heroes importance has been raised due to the cards being based on leagues.

The highest-rated Heroes base cards all have an 89 overall rating including Rudi Voller, Lucio, and David Ginola. All are great cards that would slot into most FIFA 23 Ultimate Teams, but it is the popular Frenchman Ginola who is the strongest. The star who is most known for his time in the Premier League with Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur has incredible pace and dribbling stats to rival any of today's top players. While the default position for Ginola's card is left midfield, it can be switched to a striker, left winger, or central attacking midfielder making it incredibly versatile.

Despite a base card rating of 87 Manchester City legend Yaya Toure is arguably the best of all the Heroes currently in FIFA 23 and can rival the best players in the game. With a stand-out physical stat of 89 along with high ing, shooting, and dribbling stats, Toure is the perfect all-round midfielder. The former City man's default position is a defensive midfielder where there are only a few standouts across FIFA 23, making him an obvious choice for teams playing somebody in front of the defense. After Toure, the best midfielder available in the promotion is Juventus legend Claudio Marchisio who has an 87 overall rating. However, all six key stats featured on the card of pace, shooting, ing, dribbling, strength, and defending are all higher than 80. This makes the Italian a great alternative in midfield and one who can dominate any game. The card's default position is centre midfield, making it perfect for all 4-4-2 formations.

Of the heroes cards in FIFA 23, 89 rated Lucio is by far the best defender and matches up well with the best defenders in FIFA 23. The Brazilian, who won everything as a player, has a tall build making it hard for any strikers to get past. The card's stats make Lucio one of the best available across the game currently. 82 pace, 89 physical and 91 defending stats before adding any chemistry style. Elsewhere Bolton legend Jay-Jay Okocha and Italian Antonio Di Natale are also good additions for any team, but many of those in the promotion are no better than some of the top stars already available in FIFA 23.

The base Hero cards are still available in packs, with updated cards for all players set to return during the World Cup with higher ratings, but the current versions are still worth picking up on the transfer market. Heroes can easily fit into the best formations in Ultimate Team in FIFA. Premier League legends David Ginola and Yaya Toure lead the way, but there are a host of fantastic stars to pick up from the promotion. The best Heroes can make a real difference when added to any Ultimate Team squad in FIFA 23.
