The third part of Final Fantasy 7 Remake is the perfect starting point for players to head to first. FF7 Rebirth contains most of the content from the first disc of the original PlayStation release. However, a few important towns were omitted. Some were optional in the original Final Fantasy 7, but a key main story area is completely absent. This location is Rocket Town, the home of Cid Highwind, where some major events occur.

Because Rocket Town was originally visited before the City of the Ancients, some elements will have to change. Cid already knows that Rude shouldn’t be trusted, having witnessed Cloud fight him and the other Turks. Any specific interactions with Aerith might be removed, though Cloud could still imagine them after the new final boss and the ending of FF7 Rebirth. On the plus side, Yuffie and Vincent could directly integrate more with Rocket Town, as they are no longer optional variables.

Rocket Town Reveals Cid’s Backstory

The Explosive Side Of Cid

Rocket Town should be the first city visited in FF7 Remake Part Three. After all, Cid did some makeshift repairs on the Tiny Bronco, but it might need to be at 100% performance. A stop in one of the more advanced cities and Cid’s very home shouldn’t be delayed too long.

During FF7 Rebirth, players never got to witness the anger and crassness of the original Cid. He was much more jovial, almost as if he was a brand-new character for the remakes. While this did reveal a connection to Aerith’s mother, Ifalna, he seemed almost like a front. During the second game, we learned nothing about his tragic backstory or why he holds a grudge against Shinra.

The various crossovers that bring content from other games to the world of Final Fantasy 14 are fun, but there’s an underlying issue behind them.

Square Enix will need to quickly introduce Shera, Cid’s live-in partner. Years ago, she was a scientist working on the space rocket Shinra No 26. During the launch, she was still in the hold fixing parts. Cid was faced with the dilemma of aborting the launch or burning Shera alive. He saved her life, but Shinra canceled the entire space program afterward. In FF7, Cid and Shera begin living together, but Cid incorrectly assumes the issues with the rocket aren’t severe and acts abusively toward her.

The Fight With Palmer Needs To Stay

A Memorial Joke Fight

Plamer is hit by a truck in Final Fantasy 7

Rufus and Palmer arrive in Rocket Town looking to seize the Tiny Bronco. Rude shows up during another visit, but they could be combined in FF7 Remake Part 3. While the fight with Rude is a repeat from earlier, the encounter with Palmer is one of the most comedic and stands out in the original FF7. After dressing Red XIII in a Shrina soldier outfit and dancing like Michael Jackson, it is clear that the developers wanted to have goofy moments throughout the FF7 Remake series.

During the fight, Palmer dances about and taunts the party. As shown by VGBF on YouTube, Plamer wields a Mako gun that can cast fire, ice, and lightning magic. However, Palmer lacks defense and takes extremely high damage if hit with the sleep status effect. Rather than be defeated, Palmer runs away only to be hit by a truck. With no other physical appearances in the original FF7, it at first seems like the impact was fatal. However, it is later confirmed that Palmer survived.

Rocket Town is not only the best place to begin Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3, but it can also lead into the next story beat. Escaping on the Tiny Bronco, the party is shot down and crashes. Soon after, Yuffie suggests the team head to her home of Wutai. The ninja thief steals all of your best Materia and needs to be tracked down with the help of the Turks. It might be awkward if you just saw Rude, but it could also play into the team needing a vacation.
